"Inner Sanctum"

Verse 1
Through mud and blood, I make my stand,
In the land of death, in the no man's land,
Craters and bodies, twisted and scarred,
Breath of powder and metal shards.
My spirit trembles, the earth is stained,
Yet still I fight, though my soul is drained.

Chorus
In the trenches of steel, where shadows fall,
I build my fortress, my soul stands tall.
A spark within that keeps me strong,
A song of hope, to carry me on.

Verse 2
Cold wind howls, as cannons roar,
The light has faded, like those before.
My brothers lie in the crimson clay,
Their voices echo, yet slip away.
Through sleepless nights, through endless dread,
I find my strength from the voices dead.

Chorus
In the trenches of steel, where shadows fall,
I build my fortress, my soul stands tall.
A spark within that keeps me strong,
A song of hope, to carry me on.

Verse 3
My mind retreats to a place unseen,
A sanctuary where the soul feels clean.
Inside this armor, beneath the grime,
A light that flickers against the crime.
I close my eyes and feel the fire,
The inner force that never tires.

Verse 4
Morning breaks with a sulfur haze,
The dead stare on with hollow gaze.
Yet in my heart, a secret light,
Keeps me alive through endless night.
Through every scream and every shell,
My spirit’s locked in its inner well.

Chorus
In the trenches of steel, where shadows fall,
I build my fortress, my soul stands tall.
A spark within that keeps me strong,
A song of hope, to carry me on.

Verse 5
Someday this mud will turn to dust,
The guns will rust, the iron must.
But my will remains, unbroken, whole,
For I carry on with an iron soul.
Through the dark and stormy gale,
A soldier's spirit will never fail.

Final Chorus
In the trenches of steel, where shadows fall,
I build my fortress, my soul stands tall.
A spark within that keeps me strong,
A song of hope, to carry me on.

Track listing:

Side one

1. Ragged Brigade 4:58 (Smith/Dickinson/Harris)
Verse 1
The armor’s rusted, the banners torn,
Old bones creak as the day is born.
The years weigh heavy, but here we stand,
Grim Reaper’s shadow close at hand.
Our blades are blunt, our knees are weak,
But onward still, the fight we seek!

Chorus
One last crusade, we ride tonight,
With aching backs and fading sight.
The Reaper laughs, he waits his turn,
But these old fools will never learn!

Verse 2
Our horses limp, our shields are cracked,
The tales of glory long ransacked.
We charge ahead with broken spears,
Defying time, ignoring fears.
The scythe may swing, the end may call,
But we’ll go down like heroes fall.

Chorus
One last crusade, we ride tonight,
With aching backs and fading sight.
The Reaper laughs, he waits his turn,
But these old fools will never learn!

Verse 3
So here’s to us, the worn-out few,
With iron wills and bones askew.
We march toward fate, a ragged brigade—
The last hurrah, the final crusade!

Chorus
One last crusade, we ride tonight,
With aching backs and fading sight.
The Reaper laughs, he waits his turn,
But these old fools will never learn!

2. Voyage Beyond the Stars 6:21 (Harris/Smith/Dickinson)
Verse 1
Through endless void, we sail the night,
Our engines burn, a blazing light.
Past moons and worlds, we make our way,
The final frontier, we dare to stray.
Across the stars, we roam as one,
Yet Earth still calls, her work undone.

Chorus
Beyond the stars, mankind will rise,
In search of dreams, beneath strange skies.
But in our hearts, a longing burns,
For distant Earth, we will return.

Verse 2
Through nebulae and darkened haze,
We drift along in cosmic maze.
The planets spin, the heavens gleam,
A universe beyond our dreams.
Yet through the silence, cold and vast,
We hear the echoes of our past.

Chorus
Beyond the stars, mankind will rise,
In search of dreams, beneath strange skies.
But in our hearts, a longing burns,
For distant Earth, we will return.

Bridge
Strange suns rise, red giants fall,
We’ve ventured far, yet hear the call.
A fragile world of blue and green,
Forever lost, yet ever seen.
For in this vast, eternal quest,
Our hearts still long for home’s caress.

Verse 3
Through cosmic storms and worlds unknown,
We build new lands, we forge new thrones.
Yet stars grow cold, and time moves slow,
And whispers call from long ago.
Our courage strong, our spirits high,
Yet Earth awaits beneath the sky.

Final Chorus
Beyond the stars, mankind will rise,
In search of dreams, beneath strange skies.
But in our souls, a fire burns,
For distant Earth, we shall return.

Outro
For as we roam the stars untamed,
One truth remains, forever claimed:
Though wonders vast, the heavens give,
It’s Home that calls where we once lived.

3. The Door to Summer 5:37 (Smith)
Verse 1
Through endless days and weary nights,
I search for something pure and bright.
A hidden path, a secret way,
Where sunshine lives and shadows stray.
They say there’s a door that few have found,
To lasting summer, sacred ground.

Chorus
The Door to Summer, calling me,
Where waves roll in on a crystal sea.
No sorrow, fear, or shadowed skies,
Just paradise before my eyes.

Verse 2
I dream of sands in golden light,
Of palm trees swaying out of sight.
A place where hearts can rest in peace,
Where time stands still, all troubles cease.
No fading years, no last goodbyes—
Just endless warmth beneath the skies.

Chorus
The Door to Summer, calling me,
Where waves roll in on a crystal sea.
No sorrow, fear, or shadowed skies,
Just paradise before my eyes.

Verse 3
Through mountains high and valleys low,
I chase the tales of warmth’s soft glow.
Past broken roads and cities grey,
I push ahead, come what may.
One step closer to light’s embrace,
To leave behind this hollow place.

Outro
So I’ll keep searching, brave and bold,
For that doorway bright, that land of gold.
One day I’ll pass through, strong and free—
Into the summer meant for me.

Chorus
The Door to Summer, calling me,
Where waves roll in on a crystal sea.
No sorrow, fear, or shadowed skies,
Just paradise before my eyes.

The Door to Summer, calling me,
The Door to Summer, calling
The Door to Summer

4. Epitaph of the Dying Sun 6:56 (Harris/Murray)
Verse 1
Stranded shores on a crystal bay,
Where emerald waves dance and play,
We watch the sun paint skies in fire,
As the world behind falls to the pyre.
Lush green leaves, the ocean’s breath,
A paradise framed by silent death.

Chorus
In the cradle of the earth’s embrace,
We wait in fear, lost in grace.
While shadows crawl across the sky,
We’ll watch the last light slowly die.

Verse 2
The world we knew has turned to dust,
Ashes rise, as steel turns to rust.
This island blooms in radiant green,
Yet whispers of ruin haunt the scene.
We feel the chill of winter’s mark,
As darkness spreads, the skies grow dark.

Chorus
In the cradle of the earth’s embrace,
We wait in fear, lost in grace.
While shadows crawl across the sky,
We’ll watch the last light slowly die.

Verse 3
Waves crash soft on a poisoned shore,
As creatures fade, there’s life no more.
The jungle hums a mournful tune,
Beneath a cold and dimming moon.
We watch the stars, a distant cry,
Echoes of a world that chose to die.

Chorus
In the cradle of the earth’s embrace,
We wait in fear, lost in grace.
While shadows crawl across the sky,
We’ll watch the last light slowly die.

Verse 4
A veil of frost on tropic sands,
As nuclear winter grips the lands.
Petals wilt, the green turns gray,
Paradise fades, the end holds sway.
Yet as the cold steals warmth and breath,
We hold on to beauty in the face of death.

Final Chorus
In the cradle of the earth’s embrace,
We wait in fear, lost in grace.
As shadows fall, we close our eyes,
To greet the dawn where no sun will rise.

5. The Watch of the Tartar Steppe 8:45 (Gers/Harris)
Verse 1
Out on the edge, where silence reigns,
A fortress stands, its duty chains.
The years roll on, the seasons fade,
Each dawn a cycle, each dusk a grave.
They watch the Steppe with haunted eyes,
Waiting for a storm that never arrives.

Chorus
Through endless night and fleeting day,
Bound by duty, they waste away.
For honor, for glory they yearn to see,
But time and fate are the enemy.

Verse 2
He came with hope, his heart on fire,
Dreams of valor, fierce desire.
Yet time crawls slow, the sands run thin,
The years devour what might have been.
In barren lands, his spirit fades,
The call of home, a ghostly shade.

Chorus
Through endless night and fleeting day,
Bound by duty, they waste away.
For honor, for glory they yearn to see,
But time and fate are the enemy.

Bridge
The Tartar Steppe, a silent lie,
A distant war he cannot defy.
He waits for battles carved in lore,
Yet in the quiet, he learns there’s more.
The fortress walls, his prison cell,
The echoing steps, his private hell.

Verse 3
In shadows deep, the twilight calls,
He stares beyond those empty walls.
The world moves on, he feels the weight,
Of dreams once bright, now sealed by fate.
The sands of time slip through his hands,
His name unknown in forgotten lands.

Chorus
Through endless night and fleeting day,
Bound by duty, they waste away.
For honor, for glory they yearn to see,
But time and fate are the enemy.

Final Chorus
So heed the tale of the watcher's plight,
Lost in darkness, seeking light.
For years will pass, and dreams will fade,
In the barren steppe where memories lay.

Outro
Forever bound by an empty call,
A life unlived behind fortress walls.
The Tartar Steppe, a ghostly plain,
Where soldiers wait but die in vain.

Side two

6. Whiskey Runner 4:47 (Smith/Dickinson)
Verse 1
By moonlit roads and hidden trails,
We race through shadows, dodge the jails.
With barrels full and wheels that spin,
The law’s on our tail, but we’re all in.
From dusty shacks to neon lights,
We’re kings of whiskey in the night.

Chorus
Raise a glass, here’s to the sin,
The life of the bootlegger’s kin.
Run like hell, don’t stop to fight,
It’s all or nothing in the dead of night!

Verse 2
The copper’s close, he smells the smoke,
But we’re long gone with a wink and joke.
With silver flasks and grins to spare,
We’ll take the risks, we’ll take the dare.
The law can try, but never win,
Against the spirit in the gin.

Chorus
Raise a glass, here’s to the sin,
The life of the bootlegger’s kin.
Run like hell, don’t stop to fight,
It’s all or nothing in the dead of night!

Outro
From dusk ‘til dawn, we own these roads,
With hidden stashes and heavy loads.
So drink it down, the night’s our friend—
A bootlegger’s ride will never end!

7. Return of the Pharaoh 7:41 (Dickinson)
Verse 1
Deep within the crypt of sand and stone,
Where shadows stir, the Pharaoh’s throne.
The ancient curse, the seal of night,
Shattered now by forbidden rites.
Awakened rage, his eyes burn bright,
Bound no more to endless night.

Chorus
I am the Pharaoh, reborn from the grave,
A god in flesh, no longer a slave.
Through centuries, my power will rise,
Eternal lord beneath the desert skies.

Verse 2
The priests once swore my name would die,
Yet here I stand, above the grave.
The sands of time, they fell in vain,
For now I walk the earth again.
In whispers lost, the ancients scream,
As I reclaim my endless dream.

Chorus
I am the Pharaoh, reborn from the grave,
A god in flesh, no longer a slave.
Through centuries, my power will rise,
Eternal lord beneath the desert skies.

Bridge
Empires crumble, kings turn to dust,
But I return—betrayed by trust.
With vengeance cold, my wrath will burn,
The world shall bow, for I return.

Verse 3
My servants rise from tombs of old,
Their eyes aflame, their blood grown cold.
With armies fierce, I march the sands,
An iron rule in scarlet hands.
The winds of death, they bow to me,
For I am Pharaoh, wild and free.

Final Chorus
I am the Pharaoh, reborn from the grave,
A god in flesh, no longer a slave.
The ancient curse, my empire’s cry,
For I am death that cannot die.

8. The Mountains of Madness 10:25 (Harris/Gers/Dickinson)
Verse 1
Through polar winds and frozen lands,
We march with trembling hearts and hands.
To the edge of Earth, the endless white,
Where ancient horrors shun the light.
The peaks stand tall, in shadows veiled,
With secrets deep, and truths assailed.
An eerie silence fills the air,
As if the gods had perished there.

Chorus
At the mountains of madness, where the dark gods sleep,
In the shadows eternal, where secrets run deep.
In the face of the unknown, we see our fragile worth,
Just a flicker of life in a vast, indifferent Earth.

Verse 2
The ruins rise from frozen stone,
A kingdom lost, and overthrown.
Alien whispers chill the bone,
Of minds now lost and souls alone.
The Elder Things and creatures cursed,
Where cosmic dread was birthed at first.
The walls bear tales in cryptic lore,
Of endless ages gone before.

Chorus
At the mountains of madness, where the dark gods sleep,
In the shadows eternal, where secrets run deep.
In the face of the unknown, we see our fragile worth,
Just a flicker of life in a vast, indifferent Earth.

Bridge
In labyrinths that twist and wind,
A glimpse of horrors undefined.
Shoggoths writhe in darkness deep,
Where ancient nightmares crawl and creep.
The fragile mind begins to break,
For in this place, the cosmos wakes.
A truth revealed we can’t withstand,
In forces we can’t understand.

Verse 3
A blasphemous knowledge scars the soul,
Of humankind and our feeble role.
In icy tombs, we bear the cost,
For every truth, a part is lost.
To touch the face of gods unknown,
Is to realize we’re alone.
In realms beyond our scope or ken,
There’s no regard for gods or men.

Final Chorus
At the mountains of madness, where the dark gods sleep,
In the shadows eternal, where secrets run deep.
In the face of the unknown, we see our fragile worth,
Just a flicker of life in a vast, indifferent Earth.

Outro
So turn away from that cursed sight,
And let the mountains reclaim their night.
For in the cold, our dreams decay,
At the edge of darkness, we drift away.
The cosmos yawns with ancient grace,
Indifferent to the human race.

9. Against the Dying Light 9:11 (Harris)
Verse 1
A silver beard, a weathered face,
He stands alone in time's embrace.
The years have marked him, line by line,
Yet still he walks, defying time.
The storms have come, the trials passed,
Each scar a lesson built to last.
With steady breath, he feels the weight,
But never yields to bitter fate.

Chorus
Against the dying light he stands,
Defiant heart, with open hands.
No fear of death, no cry or call,
Just silent strength against the fall.

Verse 2
The shadows grow, the night draws near,
But courage drowns the creeping fear.
A thousand voices, distant cries,
Of those who fell, who closed their eyes.
Yet in his gaze, the embers burn,
A soldier’s spirit that will not turn.
He greets the dark as an old friend,
But walks his road until the end.

Chorus
Against the dying light he stands,
Defiant heart, with open hands.
No fear of death, no cry or call,
Just silent strength against the fall.

Bridge
No gods or fate can make him kneel,
For life is his to shape and feel.
He knows the world’s a fleeting play,
But meets each hour as it decays.
The stars are cold, the night is long,
Yet he grows stronger in the song—
A song of silence, fierce and deep,
A vow to stand, a will to keep.

Verse 3
The morning fades, the colors dim,
Yet he walks on, with strength within.
A torch against the gathering dark,
A steady hand, a beating heart.
For what is life but one last stand?
To rage, to hold, to understand.
As shadows fall, he takes his place,
Unbowed, undaunted, face to face.

Final Chorus
Against the dying light he stands,
Defiant heart, with open hands.
No fear of death, no cry or call,
Just silent strength against the fall.

Outro
So when the end begins to show,
And stars fall silent, cold and low,
Remember him, who faced the night—
And raged against the fading light.

Personally, as a non English speaker, I think that lyrics on this album are great and meaningful. And yes, in the future we may have big troubles with AI. Everybody will live in his own world of hobbies and interests, generated specifically for him. Will have his own version of the favorite band, or maybe it's all bullshit and AI will be just another tool to utilize.
Track listing, direction and themes of the songs is chosen by me. AI just did the rest. (ha ha)
And one more thing, in interviews Steve or Bruce often stated that before recording an album they don't plan or premeditate (7son being the exception, I think). After this little game of mine I formulated for myself that such approach is not very good, of course, just imo. You have to plan to some degree, you have to have a vision of the album you want to release. You have to balance the themes and the songs out. Of course, Maiden boys do what they want and I am nobody, it's just observation to myself. If I am correct, Bruce's "The Chemical Wedding" was premeditated of sorts. You have to aim and project. Of course that will not guarantee anything, but you have to construct the album to some degree.
I am aware that 2,3 and 8 song lyrics begin in the similar manner. Nobody's perfect.
