Maiden are yet to write on themes such as Babylon, Atlantis, Crusaders... I wonder if Steve is interested in them. It would help and be fitting for a Maiden cover (they need it for that, the lyrics could be metaphoric), I would love to see such arts and covers, especially a sea-theme. You know, covers with warrior Eddie and ancient. Maybe something ethereal? As always, but the next Maiden cover is probably more curious than ever.

I think it might be a little too late for these themes to show up in Maiden songs. In the ’80s — maybe. That said, the concept of “Babylon” could work very well as a metaphor for how fucked up today’s world is. As for Atlantis, that theme — imo — was never really in Maiden’s realm; it sounds too power-metal-ish. The same goes for crusaders, unless it were approached as a semi-religious song or with an overly realistic take on the subject. At least that’s how I see it.
