Symbol of Salvation = absolutely their best.

Delirious Nomad = classic, but definitely very 80's.

Revelation = more modern, much heavier, much darker

I'd say get their whole catalog (cause it's honestly not that long), but these are a good place to start.

No problem. They are an incredible band with one of my favorite vocalists in all of metal/rock.

They definitely stray closer to straight-up metal than most bands (you won't find songs about dragons or werewolves), but the Latin influence in their music adds for a nice element not often heard outside of South America/Mexico.

Favourite bands with favourite albums.

1. Hardcore Superstar - Dreamin In A Casket
2. Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death
3. Europe - Secret Society
4. Mark Knopfler - Get Lucky

Of these, there is only Hardcore Superstar that I know every widely released song by heart of (8 albums). I wouldn't be able to name all of Paul Di'Anno-era Maiden, The Number of the Beast's lesser played songs, No Prayer for the Dying and Fear of the Dark-albums, despite listening to Iron Maiden for almost 10 years.

Have occasionally listened to many bands that are both close musically to these, but also bands that are quite a bit from my usual taste.
Occassional listens (but not favourites) includes: Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, John Norum, Joe Bonamassa, The Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne (early career), Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Guns N Roses, Dokken, Accept, The Rolling Stones, Megadeth (Youthanasia), Black Country Communion, Steve Vai, Hammerfall, Coheed and Cambria, Metallica, Dream Theater.

Top 3:

1. Revocation
2. Periphery
3. Clutch

That's as far as I can narrow it down; I have far too many bands that I really enjoy.

Another Clutch fan! Fantastic. What an amazing band. Got a particular fav album?

Oh man, so many choices.

Transnational Speedway League, Self-titled, Robot Hive/Exodus, and Strange Cousins From The West are my favorites.

I think my most favorite album might be Earth Rocker, actually. I've pretty much had that playing non-stop since it was released. It's a really cool fusion of genres covering the stoner/blues/hard rock style Clutch has done.

Earth Rocker is spectacular, though I liked a lot of SCFTW as well.

I like the trio of Blast Tyrant, RH/E, and From Beale Street to Oblivion (though I know a lot of Clutch fans bag on this record). The earlier albums are hard for me to get into due to the lack of melody, but Elephant Rider is fantastic. I really appreciate how their sound has evolved while still maintaining the core elements that make the band what it is.

I wish Clutch was the house band at every bar I visited.

1. IRON MAIDEN
2. Helloween
3. Black Sabbath/Ozzy solo/Dio solo
4. Accept
5. Saxon
6. Manowar
7. Megadeth
