I cannot recall anything really good from 2014 apart from Linkin Park's The Hunting Party either. And even that album I haven't listened to in a couple of years.
Edit: Sabaton and Amaranthe also released bangers that year. Slipknot's The Gray Chapter is also one of their best imo.

Amaranthe and Priest were my considerations for 2014; the former is likely unpopular here but I'd have expected the latter to be a relatively safe choice if people have nothing else. I like Sabaton but only know songs rather than albums right now, so don't have a formed opinion on their album that year.

2021: Iron Maiden - Senjutsu (honourable mention to Doctor Smoke's Dreamers and the Dead, though I discovered that the year after)
2020: Probably the DOOM: Eternal soundtrack. Did anything happen this year...?
2019: Sum 41 - Order in Decline
2018: A very solid year, this one. Top would be a close call between Priest's Firepower and Reigning Days' Eclipse, though I should mention Alice in Chains' Rainier Fog and A.L.I.S.O.N.'s Space Station. All very different from each other, depends what mood I'm in.
2017: PVRIS - All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell. Wanted to give this to Mastodon's Emperor of Sand, but that loses me a bit in the second half.

Yeah, hatin' on Axl is easy, but even if you take away those hit singles - the album still rocks.
Eliminator is top ZZ Top and although Orgasmatron isn't highly ranked in Motorhead circles - I'd say it pretty good album.
