Favorite Album From Each Year

Machine Head is a good band though..

Killers is the only good album I've heard from that year. That's why it's a bad year.
Oh my. While 1981 wasn't at the level of, say, 1980 or 1982, it was still pretty damn good. Lots of classics, led by...

Moving Pictures - Rush

with strong contenders ...

Fair Warning - Van Halen
Mob Rules - Black Sabbath
For Those... - AC/DC
High and Dry - Def Leppard
Don't Say No - Billy Squier
Diary of a Madman - Ozzy
Tattoo You - Rolling Stones
Too Fast For Love - Motley Crue

Do you really believe that none of these is even a "good" album??

Mob Rules is pretty good. Totally forgot about Diary of a Madman though. It's the second best of the year.

1985 saw the release of . . . Metal Church (Metal Church)

That Metal Church debut was '84, regardless, 1985 almost wins my favorite year from the 1980's if only on the merit of The Return......, Branded and Exiled (not even that big of a RW fan but this album kicks ass), Seven Churches, and those first two Razor albums. 1987 had some killers in it too. My favorites being your aforementioned Under Jolly Roger, Scum, Abigail, Nightfall (one of the greatest 80's heavy metal albums. In my top 20 from the 80's atleast), and Black Mark. That Death album from 1995, Symbolic, is probably in my top 5 death metal albums ever.

Machine Head is a good band though..

I will give you this: I think Clenching the Fists of Dissent is one of the most aggressive songs ever recorded. Beyond that, I believe I outgrew them. And you know who knows, in 7 more years I'm probably gonna outgrow some of the stuff I listen to a lot right now.

Went through these all last night, some years are a little sparse in terms of music I've listened to, those which I don't feel represent an album I enjoy have an N/A in the place until I find an album I like, I excluded EPs and Live Albums. The Last Command didn't quite click for me as much as the other W.A.S.P. albums and The Devil You Know is pretty good but again doesn't click enough for me to really say it is my album of the year
