Final Frontier press release said:
IRON MAIDEN are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new studio album will be called 'THE FINAL FRONTIER', and is expected be released late summer of this year.

The announcement comes with news of a North American Tour with Very Special Guests Dream Theater to open in Dallas, Texas, on 9th June and finish in Washington D.C. on 20th July, making it Maiden's most extensive North American tour in many years.

Following these shows in USA and Canada The Final Frontier World Tour will travel back to Europe for a few selected major festival and stadium shows with the band planning to continue to many other countries in 2011 (full currently confirmed dates below).

My bad, I misread your original post as being "no statement from Maiden after Dio's death". Sorry.  B)

No worries, Minister.

By the way, I'm not going to be a frequent flyer from now until August 11th. I assume most spoilers will be taken care of by you mods, but if they're posted in the evening, American time, they will be visible in the morning, European time - and since you moderators are probably not online again until the afternoon, European time, I expect anything before 2 PM (CET) as unsafe time for forum browsing ...

Hey guys, it's good to be back! It's been... A year, I think, since the last time I was here!

Anyway, I'm going to see Maiden for the first time in Bergen on 11.8! Is anyone else also going to be there?

Good to be back, seriously...  B)

Welcome back, pilau! I suggest that you take the time to read the rules for the tour so you don't get banned ;)

Thanks, mate. Will do. Although I don't think I have something to tell that all of you guys haven't heard about yet, so...  :halo:

According to the official Maiden website, their support band for the show in Bergen will be Dark Tranquility! I haven't heard much of them, so what should I expect? I've heard some stuff from other bands from the Gothenburg metal scene (In Flames, Opeth) and I quite like some of their music. Is Dark Tranquility comparable?

Less than two weeks now, really looking forward to this show now!

Dark Tranquility is the most "true" of the Gothenburg melodeath bands, meaning they haven't strayed nearly as far from their original sound as the other bands.  They are my favorite of that bunch BY FAR.

I'd suggest checking out their Character, Damage Done and The Gallery albums.

They are also an amazing live band, I've love to see them open for Maiden here in the US.
