You literally argued that Germany is suffering because of high prices and that nuclear plants is the solution to it. Constructing new power plants will not lower prices, because the cost of building them must be covered. It will help with maintaining the supply, but it will not lower any prices.

But you weren't making that case. You said "Germany is suffering from high prices, they need nuclear power plants!". The only thing that can lower prices across the board in a short and medium timeline is to A)burn fossil fuel B ) construct more wind and solar power + battery storage.

and c ) the dynamic pricing thing needs to change. Prices in the southern Sweden shouldn't be decided by spikes in demand in Germany.
 
Yes you are right.
My point was start building those plants anyway. If we are serious about carbon free in 2050 (hint: we aren't) I don't see anything else than nuclear as a viable solution. Wind & Solar and batteries are ok, but you cannot power a country by those. Basically it's a grift, as many fancy ideologies.
 
EDIT: Never mind, I'm not going to get caught up in another one of these arguments, there's already too much here that is unanswered and gets my blood boiling.

It makes no sense for Germany, in the state it is in right now, to bank on nuclear. We don't have the time or the money for such an undertaking and by the time we'd see returns it would be too late. We need to continue investing in renewables, which are becoming more and more efficient, are far cheaper and we see their benefits immediately. And you most definitely can power a country with wind and solar. We are steadily marching towards that goal.

Yeah, theoretically nuclear power would have a lot of upsides, but in the current state we're in they're simpöy not worth it anymore, at all.

No, you are disrespecting him by "acknowledging" that it took him a lot of time and effort to write that, yet you utterly refuse to actually engage with what is written and continue with your bad faith tactics, some of which were outlined in that very post you refuse to respond to.

So, no: I will not "mind my own business" and this "attack" does not come "out of nowhere". Either finally respond to a lengthy post that directly calls you and your bullshit out or stop wasting everyone's time. What you are doing is beyond disrespectful and you know that very well.

This is pretty much it. 5 has time to launch unverified claims and clearly poorly researched arguments, but does not have time for his views to be challenged.

Well let’s not generalize first. I wasn’t perfect in one or two cases. It’s not that I always do.

Second and most importantly is to try and avoid the agression. We aren’t supposed to agree and it’s healthy. But we can keep good energy. And we can.
Now look. We were talking about another topic and out of the blue he aggressively ask me to reply to another post like if he was what? The police?
Then he accuses me of not providing arguments which was right in one case but he shades zero light at what he disagrees exactly and why I was wrong.

I almost never agree with you but I never felt you treated me particularly wrong or out of order.

Yet you still somehow find the time to do exactly the things that post calls out. Don't play the victim, you aren't fooling anyone.

You are disrespecting everyone in these discussions and most of all you are disrespecting Perun who, as you said yourself, put in so much time to write a thorough post, which you explicitly refuse to engage with. This isn't about "agreeing to disagee" or being civil. This is about you being disrespectful once again. It's about you "mistreating" the other participants in this thread.

Call me aggressive, call me sanctimonious, I don't care. I want you to stop with your bad faith tactics and your blatant Russian propaganda and to finally take some responsibility by responding to an incredibly thorough take down of your usual behavior. Be better.
 
With the coming of Trump the world of politics has changed. Fact. Europe needs to adapt and, simply speaking, to grow a pair. Time of "strong condemns" and "paper" outrages is unacceptable anymore. Time to act. Macron and others, it's time not only to speak right things but start doing those for real. (To build strong army, to ramp up artillery production, to deter russia for REAL, etc.)
