I’ve bought your previous books and there not cheap but that’s it now, officially done buying anything you release.
Sick of spending over £50 + postage for a book then seeing an updated new edition released later down the road.
You’re 100% holding back stuff on purpose just to add to a new release later.
At least if you offered a token discount to those that bought the first edition that would show a little integrity.
This particular book has already had 2 past releases and now a third!
First of all, I’d like to clarify something: I’m not holding anything back. My research is something I carry on continuously, even while working on other projects, and new information keeps coming my way. In fact, that’s exactly what happened shortly after the first edition was completed. Jim Yukich—who, as you may know, worked with the band on the
Flight of Icarus video and
Live After Death—reached out just days after the first edition went to print.
As a result, I kept updating and refining the book, which eventually led to the release of the collector’s edition—limited to just 50 copies. Each of those included at least one unique addition, so no two books were the same. However, it reached a point where I simply couldn’t keep adding more without altering the book’s overall design, so I had to start over and build a new edition from the ground up. Here's what I shared on the two FB groups I administer, and what I said on that occassion.
Now, regarding the discount token—I’m not sure if you’re on Facebook, or more specifically, in one of the two groups I administer. In both of those, I offered a full week of pre-sale access with a 33.33% discount for the second edition. I’ve attached a screenshot of the post I made on Facebook for your reference.
I also sent an email to everyone I knew had purchased the book previously. It’s possible you didn’t receive it—but if you're still interested, I’d be more than happy to extend that same discount to you. I want to be clear: I have no issue with you at all.
Lastly, no one is ever obligated to purchase any of my books. I’m genuinely committed to offering value and answering every question to the best of my ability. If there’s something specific you’re looking for, I’ll gladly work with you to make it happen—just let me know. What I do ask is not to assume I’m withholding anything intentionally.
Researching the band—especially the early years—is no easy task. That’s precisely why many keep digging into it: there’s always more to uncover. It’s not about hiding information; sometimes, things require deeper investigation before I can present them with confidence.
For example, I currently have over 50 previously unpublished photos of the band. Would you rather see them released with proper context—knowing when and where they were taken—or would you prefer I hold onto them indefinitely because someone might assume I’m keeping them hidden on purpose?
