Is it possible to get an excerpt of some pages to get a feel for the writing style and layout ?EDDIE MADE ME DO IT (THE BEAST ARISES 1973-1983) narrates the story of Steve Harris and Iron Maiden in a way that has never before been revealed thanks exclusive interviews with: David Smith and Paul Sears (Influence/Gypsy’s Kiss), Steve Lazarus (Head of the Fanclub 1998-2019) and Keith Wilfort (Head of the Fanclub 1979-1997), Dave “Lights” Beasley, Dennis Wilcock (Vocalist in Smiler and in Iron Maiden between 1976-1978), Barry “Thunderstick” Purkins (Drummer in Maiden between 1977-1978), Terry Warpram (Guitarist in Maiden 1977-1978), Neal Kay, Dennis Stratton (Guitarist of Iron Maiden 1980), Derek Riggs, Pippa Lang (reporter from Melody Maker, Review editor of Metal Hammer from late 80’s and 90’s an ex-girlfriend of Dave Murray), Manu Da Silva (Ex-Roadie, Personal Friend of Steve Harris who went to take care of Eddie’s Bar between 1989-2005), Andy Curran (co-lead vocalist and Bassist of Coney Hatch who supported Maiden on the World Piece Tour and became a personal friend of Harris. Also supporting Steve on his upcoming British Lion 2023 Tour) and even the dancer from The Number Of The Beast video!
Within this book you’ll find never before seen pictures and stories, as well as commentaries from Doug Sampson, Paul Di’Anno, Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson, as well as a special tourgraphy with commentaries on almost every gig… even the secret gigs (not divulged anywhere else!)
All in all, EDDIE MADE ME DO IT is a book written by a that hard fan who went to research the band for more than 30 years, gathering information from the very early days of the band ‘til now.

Wel, here's something different.... This one appears in the current edition of Rock Hard (Germany). Here's the translation I made: EDDIE MADE ME DO IT (THE BEAST ARISES 1973-1983) by Luis Mariano Rodríguez
The number of official book publications by Iron Maiden is relatively limited, which perhaps is quite good. Because of that, a number of independent authors and fans have stepped into the breach to fill the gaps with their knowledge, some of them with highly specialised works. One of them is Luis Mariano Rodríguez, whose hardcover book "Eddie Made Me Do It (The Beast Arises 1973-1983)", with 336 large-format glossy pages, concentrates solely on the early days of the East End Boys. He has undoubtedly done his homework and knows much of the secondary literature that has appeared, from which he sometimes quotes. The core of the fluently readable text, however, is formed by self-performed interviews from former and current band members (including Thunderstick, Dennis Wilcock, Paul Di Anno, Dennis Stratton, Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson) as well as other contemporary witnesses (such as roadie Steve "Loopy" Newhouse, cult DJ Neal Kay or illustrator Derek Riggs, who even has his say very often). Rodríguez goes into the content with almost manic meticulousness, for example, there is a short interview with Leona and lan Morton, the ballet-dancers from 'The Number Of The Beast' video. Also really enlightening are the articles, live reviews and interviews in the section "Iron Maiden In The Press", which is added to the respective chapters, and range from "Sounds" and "Kerrang" to the "Winnipeg Free Press". Particularly noteworthy here is a cover story from NME from 1982, in which author Paul Morley conducts a very critical, often over the pain threshold ("Steve, would you say you're a racist?"<) conversation with Dickinson and Steve Harris. Many partly unpublished photos round off the book. Only the somewhat simple layout and the unnecessarily repeated quotations in the chapter summaries (including a meticulous list of all tour dates) are worthy of criticism. Nevertheless, there is no way around "Eddie Made Me Do It" is a MUST for Maiden fans and researchers. A sequel is already being planned. Thank mate!Nice review, congratulations!
Does the book feature the full NME piece from 1982? Rod has managed to successfully brush that under the carpet (I wonder why ) and it is rarely discussed in Maiden-related literature.

Thank you so, so much for your nice words.Aww I don't have fb. What about Instagram?
Came back home yesterday had a deep sleep and all the morning I was reading your book up to late afternoon. I was so immersed that I hardly caught the day light for a walk with my better half.
Such a great experience being back home, reading on the bed, your book and my lady next to me being lazy for hours. Been ages I wasn't immersed that deeply for other reads than work. Thanks for that.
Sad news is that I'm at the end of Number of the Beast now...
Hope the second is coming soon haha!
Yeah is one of those things I really like to do as an extra for people who trust in my work. In the FB group I post the scans of my almost infinite collection of scans of magazines/newspapers related to Maiden, ranging from the very first one in 1976 to 1987 (the years that I intended to cover in the first book) once the second book is out it will cover the 1976-1993 years.@Luisma I think it’s a super smart idea to offer some exclusivity I’ll try to find a way to access it, probably using someone else’s account. In the meantime I’ll connect with you on Instagram with my proper account.
Oh by the way, if you're gonna use another FB account, be sure to let me know by DM so I can send you the private link to access the FB group and authorise your entry as soon as I get the request to join@Luisma I think it’s a super smart idea to offer some exclusivity I’ll try to find a way to access it, probably using someone else’s account.
