the flag Bruce waved at Ozzfest was from which country ? Poland ? And what about The Trooper ? It's about The Crimean War and I bet you they didn't pay tribute to the Ottoman Empire. in that song.
I'm not saying they are the embodiment of Britain but I do say they are 90% British "sweat, glory and tears" (let's say 10% goes to Nicko's years playing for French act Trust).
The name of the plane should have to do with the band, songs,Britain (if you look right under the cockpit of that 757 you will see a British flag)...usually a commercial plane carries the flag of the country of origin...
cheers
(including Janick Gers, a name that sounds like he's come from Sweden)

Hence, the discussion about "what is British", and, much more, "what is unbritish" is ridiculously out of date. This attitude led to two world wars, the destruction of two continents and the total enslavement of another one.
Sure, Maiden have a patriotic touch, but that doesn't mean they only ever show themselves as British, and British only. In fact, I think the tongue-in-cheek comparison of themselves to the world's most powerful man is very Maiden-esque. What the fuck does it matter that the plane referenced to isn't British? What's next, are you going to abandon Eddie because the soldier on the picture that inspired him was not British?
InfiniteDreamer said:Never thought the "British" meaning was like that nowadays...I always thought it was cool being British...maybe I'm seeing it through the incorrect lenses...maybe I've watched too much Monty Phyton's Flying Circus when I was younger
Love that British sarcasm and sense of humour !
cheers folks.

And Eddie is very British!!![]()
