If Take the Time is such a great song, why do they never play it live?
Hope you're not serious with that logic.

Also, that logic is flawed. According to setlist.fm, Take The Time is the band's 5th most played live song behind Pull Me Under, Metropolis pt. 1, Learning to Live, and Under a Glass Moon - and that's not counting setlists that people have failed to enter.

Obviously it's their oldest LaBrie album, but I still think it says quite a bit that the Top Five is entirely made up of I&W songs (even Surrounded is in the Top Ten).

TTT is one that needs to be retired. Nothing to do with the songs quality, but they have reall butchered it in recent performances. It will be even worse with a click as that was a song in the early days where the band could have fun and jam and mess with the tempo.

The top 5 is very surprising indeed, apart from Pull Me Under.

Do they play to a click live? What about tempo changes in songs?

I don't want to get into the whole backing track argument again but playing to a click live sounds like it really sucks. No changes in rhythm allowed whatsoever.

Yep, if I want absolute perfection I can listen to the album.

That being said, you forget about the backing tracks when you're at the show. They are mixed low enough that it isn't a distraction. Although post-Portnoy live DT has a mechanic quality to it that is at least partly due to the backing tracks IMO.

Voices, Lines In The Sand, Blind Faith, In The Presence Of Enemies. Last pick was almost In The Name Of God, but I will spare it this round because it's not split into two parts like Presence. Both have too much wanking though.

Only two Images & Words songs are left in the game; first and second Survivors each had 5 songs from that album in Top 10 (6 songs in total - all of them except for Another Day and Wait For Sleep). Third one had two.

17 different songs appeared in Top 10 in 3 Survivors. Of those 17, 4 didn't make it to the finals this time (Pull Me Under, Surrounded, Under A Glass Moon and The Best Of Times) and 3 have been eliminated in the finals (Take The Time, The Count Of Tuscany and Outcry).

Voices, Lines In The Sand, Trial Of Tears, Fatal Tragedy, Finally Free, Stream Of Consciousness, In The Presence Of Enemies and Bridges In The Sky never made the Top 10.

Can't believe Bridges and Finally Free got eliminated so early, SMH. But at Lines In The Sand is finally out...
