Lines In The Sand - How the fuck am I the only one to vote for this song? Probably the worst song to make it to the finals and yes, it's worse than anything from the first and last album.

People do say strange things sometimes! To each their own ;) Probably the best John Petrucci solo (along with that of "Voices") and the best opening of any DT track in my opinion.

I'm also surprised at how popular Erotomania is around here. It is a good song, but for all the wanker-y criticism they get this song is the prime example of that IMO. :p

On that same subject, did y'all know that part of Erotomania was originally in Pull Me Under? There is a demo of it.

It's one of them, but there's no other non-90s "short" songs on that list.

The song also suffers from a lazy ending, as if the band just couldn't be bothered to write a proper outro. Even a reprise of the main riff would have been better than the unfinished feeling I get whenever I hear the song.

Good thing they took it out, because it doesn't fit at all. It feels smooth on Erotomania.
 
If you ask me, Erotomania is the band's second-best instrumental, right behind Stream of Consciousness. The latter is more complete, and for the most part contains more feeling.
 
Erotomania doesn't do anything at all for me. Stream and Dance are the cream of the crop, and I'll even take Hell's Kitchen and Overture 1928 ahead of Erotomania.
