#111: Transylvania
Iron Maiden 6/9
Yes, Transylvania is my least favorite instrumental. Shocking, right? This is actually the only one that I find myself wondering how it would work with lyrics. That's not to say it needs them, but just throwing them out there. I like it, opening is cool, but it doesn't have the same spark Ides, Khan, and 'Orra have.

#110: Fortunes of War
The X Factor 7/11
This song has a tremendous amount of build-up. When I first heard it, I thought that the pay-off wasn't as good. I disagree with myself now. Fortunes of War is a great song. It definitely sounds like a call back to Afraid To Shoot Strangers but then leaves that behind and takes its own road. Goddamn, why did Maiden have to have so many good songs?

Oh, that signifies how far through we are with the album. If it says AMOLAD 1/10, only one song is on the list. If it said 10/10, that means the entire album is already on the list.

'Tis true I once disliked the Brave New World, but I must admit, of late I have come to enjoy this album.

Off the top of my head, I'd probably rank them as such:

And "Wasting Love", lol. I purposefully kept off anything that didn't feature Eddie, but if I'd had them in there, the live single for "Running Free" would be in the Top 5, hands down. I love that photo.
 
Not sure about the high position of The Book of Souls Live, given that it's just a hastily-cropped tour poster (and not even a good one - could they have not used the Eddie-cuts-out-own-heart-in-jungle poster?)
