I'm not knocking anyone's optimism but the bar is on the floor with some of you guys.

This. Maiden deserved a drummer who was more of an upgrade. Not just "better than a 74-year-old who had a stroke".

Personally, I'd rather they continued with Nicko and just did far fewer shows / residencies in major cities per year. From his performances with Titanium Tart, the man can still play (and play FAST) and his unique feel and musicianship still shines through in spades despite the simplified drum parts.

In a way, I'm actually glad I didn't travel to another country just to hear that song live. They never brought it back when Nicko was still able to play it with the stamina and power it deserved, such as during the Maiden England World Tour. I'd almost rather never hear it live than hear it without the intensity the song deserves. Damn it, Anika—or someone of her caliber—could have absolutely nailed it.

Yes, its a waste that nicko couldnt play infinite dreams in 2013/14.
