DAWSON 1 YEAR ON

My point is nothing to do with tempo or mistakes. Every band member makes mistakes live and Maiden have been changing tempos for years. I just think Simon is a very average drummer. He can barely get the intro to Murders correct.

He's there and Maiden seem happy with him so fair play but they are so many much much better drummers out there that could have helpee Maiden move forward after Nicko IMHO. This just feels like a massively backward step for a band of this magnitude.

Reminds me of when AC/DC replaced Phil Rudd with Simon Wright who wasn't a good successor. If there is another tour, I wonder if Simon will leave but he seems interested in playing with the band.

Laziest choice ever.
I kinda of understand from arrys point of view. The age they are now and the current members have all been in the band for over 30yrs I guess he doesn't want to upset the applecart. He knows Simon, he doesnt really have to integrate him personally. Maybe a bigger name would have just been too much at this stage in their career. However I dont think the level of performance of the band should be compromised for that reason.

Someone like Anika Nilles - is she a big name in your opinion?
I'm trying to understand why so many bands bring in top musicians whenever possible, but only with Maiden, the argument always comes up that this might be too much for them “at this point in their career.”

What i mean is do the band need the spotlight and possible agro of a Dave Lombardo. I dont want Dave Lombardo btw just an example

If rush have choose an mid drummer, their fans probably would say the same.

AC/DC . . . that gets me thinking. Chris Slade probably would've been available - experienced session muso/journeyman, good plug-n-play option you'd think
