Thanks... ooh! I felt like such an idiot [!--emo&--]/blush.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blush.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Somewhere in Time is amazingly complex, and I love looking at all the subtle references to Maiden on it. Powerslave is also really cool, but my favourite is probably the Brave New World cover which just really jumps out at you, and gives a futuristic look with a scary eddie looking at you.

It's a different Eddy, but if I look at the art and use of colour it's simply the most detailed painting.

The cover of Virtual XI is just so awful and the font used for "IRON MAIDEN" is boring and dirrrrrty looking. Eddie has girls hair in it and shows no emotion compared to Piece of Mind and NOTB.

definately Somewhere in time, cos its got sooooo many hidden stuff on that pic....

heres a link to the "hi res" pic : [a href=\'http://www.iron-maiden.ru/images/sit/front.jpg\' target=\'_blank\']http://www.iron-maiden.ru/images/sit/front.jpg[/a]

I somewhere got to the site that had the original explanations of all the IM covers and pics, and SiT is THE FAR MOST EXCITING !

I read it all day (its got really many stuff to read)..... for example: see the logo next to the Eddies right knee (the male-like symbol on the window of the mall)?

Thats the logo of their pic designer... /quote/:

" Derek Riggs trademark symbol is something like the following. It seems to be
his initials...a (mirrored) D, and the R on the right-hand side. Or some-
thing like that! "

And theres sth else I remember, very cool : right next to Eddies right knee, on a falling white tape behind the mall windows it says (from right to left): "this is such a boring picture"....

cool huh?

heres a link to another very interesting pic, the back cover: [a href=\'http://www.iron-maiden.ru/images/sit/back.jpg\' target=\'_blank\']http://www.iron-maiden.ru/images/sit/back.jpg[/a]

AND HERES a link to all that (the IM FAQs), : [a href=\'http://www.netsector.com/tony/maiden/faq-part1.html\' target=\'_blank\']http://www.netsector.com/tony/maiden/faq-part1.html[/a]

LOADS of interesting stuff....

Surely Piece of Mind......

I thought a bunch of people would pick SiT because of the details, but, as cool as they are, I'm not fond of the cybernetic Eddie. Eddie is one part of Maiden that's not to be tampered with. So Killers gets my vote.

Although I was mighty tempted to play devil's advocate and click DoD...

The most accesable way for me to listen to Maiden is to buy their cds. the local shop i get these in have the 1998 enhanced versions. These cds are tiny in comparison to the huge vinal records in the 80s. Therefore, i do not get the same enjoyment from covers like Powerslave or Somewhere in Time as the picture is so small i cannot make out the hidden details like the words in powerslave or the minute references to maiden in SiT. this is why i chose fear of the dark. it might not be their greatest album but the artwork is cool.

I think there are a handful of eagles and microscope enthusiasts who can pick out all the details on the CD covers. [!--emo&;)--]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Anyone who doesn't vote for Brave New World is dumb [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Somewhere In Time for me.
I goes into depth with the band, in my mind the entire album is connected with that cover. Especially Wasted Years, and may in remind you [a href=\'http://www.maidenfans.com/imc/index.php?url=album06_sit/sitzooms&lang=eng&link=albums\' target=\'_blank\']this[/a]?

Virtual XI Eddie girls hair..he doesn't even have hair..only bloody brains coming out of his head.

I like colourful detailed paintings and I like this grotesque eddie and the post apocalyptic world in the back.

Unlikely. Due to the shrinking of the image, the tiny details got blurred and are now gone. I actually went over the back cover of the SiT CD with a magnifying glass and found nothing but colour in places where there are sharp details on the LP cover.

Exactly. I'm very sorry not to have the vinyl. Thanks to the Commentary though.
Because SiT is indeed my favourite cover.

Many good covers to choose from, but I voted for Live After Death although Powerslave and Somewhere In Time are also very close.

I'm always different, choosing things the rest of the world wouldn't [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
