My votes:

Good Doors song vs. great Clash song, Clash wins easily. Should I Stay Or Should I Go
SRV was a miracle, awesome player. Pride And Joy
Good U2 vs. bad Boston, another easy choice. New Year's Day
Wish I could vote for the Live song, it's great, but Manfred Mann is epic. Blinded By The Light

Doors. "Should I Stay or Should I Go" is one of The Clash's weaker hits in my book, so I'm going with Mr. Morrison and company.
Vaughan. Wonderful blues rock.
U2. Don't like either one, but U2 is much better.
Manfred Mann, though the Live song isn't bad.

Make love not war. The "girl" with the dark brown voice is better than a Blitz. Lola
ELO is alright, but can't beat the birth of the power chord. You Really Got Me
The Doors were great with those little poetic gems. Van Halen were great at rocking. Jump
Used to love the Eddie Money song, but it has worn off. And I can't vote against a classic solo. Eruption / You Really Got Me

In other words: I vote for You Really Got Me, or the bands who played it.

Kinks and Halen. I'm not massive on Van Halen, but those two songs are excellent.

Interesting pairings this round.

Blitz certainly rocks harder. Lola is overplayed. But listening to them carefully, side by side, I have to say I enjoy Lola more.
I like that ELO song, but I gotta go with the Kinks again. Was this the first punk song? Pre-dated "My Generation," I think.
I hated Jump when it came out. Too many synths -- get back to the guitar Eddie. I've warmed to it over the years, but still not in love with it. Not a fan of the Doors generally, but this is a cool song. Edge to Strange.
The last one is easy. One of the best covers ever, and Eruption is a fantastic mood-setting intro. I like Eddie Money, but he should lose just because of that album cover.

I'm a huge Kinks fan, so "Lola" and "You Really Got Me" are obvious choices.
When you're strange, you vote for "People Are Strange".
"Two Tickets to Paradise" is no great shakes, but I don't really care for "Eruption" and I really don't care for the Kinks cover.

I love the Kinks
And I love Van Halen

I think I am getting old.
Most songs in this game work on a nostalgic level, even if I never particularly liked them much, probably because I haven't heard many of them in years.

I love The Kinks too and I'm barely just discovering them. The Village Green Preservation Society and Arthur.....Is where it's at for me :)

Aerosmith vs Coldplay is a much harder match-up than I actually thought. I quite like Coldplay, and Walk This Way is a decent Aerosmith song.

I went with Yellow, but it was a close one.

My votes:

Great VH song, one of the best Roth-era songs. But it can't hang with the Zep. Ramble On
Fleetwood Mac got my vote previous vs. bad songs. Not this time, love this Cars song. Just What I Needed
Third pair is indeed tough. Yellow is good as a song but that singer's voice is annoying. Walk This Way
Love the epic guitar solo in Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone also has one of the best choruses ever.
Great build-up/suspense in the rest of the song as well. One of the fantastic highlights in the Earring's career.
