Rebellion, Painkiller, One, Fade to Black, H&H, Time, Resurrection, Stare at the Sun

Power Metal has 0% chance of lasting on this forum, even the utterly brilliant one that is Rebellion. And I'm a bit surprised that Resurrection is getting thumped because it's awesome.

Rebellion is great, but it's going up against one of my all time favorites. In my case, at least, it's an unfortunate pairing.

Gamma Ray (simply because it's not GNR)
Zeppelin
Metallica x2
Sabbath (this was hard but in the end it came down to Rush's lack of Dio)
Pink Floyd (never cared for most Anthrax or thrash in general)
Megadeth (one of their best songs)
Blaze

I will be banning anyone who votes against Stare at the Sun. Just so you all know.

I edited in a ninja, just so people realize I am either not serious...or I'm a fucking ninja.

How is Stairway and Painkiller the closest pairing? Because Painkiller absolutely destroys Stairway. Stairway is more overrated than Hallowed, Master of Puppets and Paranoid combined.

For a Testament song no less. :puke:
Testament are brilliant. They're better and more consistent than Metallica and Slayer plus they're one of the few bands that have evolved their sound without going off the rails. They're also probably the only Metal band I listen to that that don't have a bad album.

My favorite Megadeth songs are the ones that aren't thrashy.
'Tornado of Souls' isn't Thrashy? It's one of the genre's highlights!

I can mostly agree with this. I've begun The Great Megadeth Relistening Party of 2014 in anticipation of the upcoming survivor, and the early stuff is really mediocre. There are great songs in the mix, definitely, but the thrashiest stuff is simply cluttered, jumbled, and forced (not a surprise considering how many drugs Mustaine was on at the time). He figured out the perfect mix by Rust in Peace, an incredible album, but I vastly prefer Countdown. I like Youthanasia a lot as well.
