I saw the movie twice yesterday, first at a press screening and then at the Istanbul premiere in Turkey. I really liked it. There isn’t a lot of new material for fans like us, of course, but the story is told in a very sincere way. And Javier Bardem absolutely steals the show. His contribution is fantastic, bringing both depth and a touch of humor to the documentary.
A few things feel missing, though, most notably Martin Birch. I don’t even recall him being mentioned. But that’s okay, it’s more about the band’s overall journey.
Still, seeing this story on the big screen for their 50th anniversary felt truly special, and I’m really happy I got to experience it like this.
