...and that's basically proving my point. You're not doing anything to disprove the fact that you're way too much into this.

Voting for everything left from the Tyranny sessions except the title track and Abduction, my two favorites.

I agree with Foro about the voting. I like Navigate and Kill Devil Hill (less so), but they certainly don't come anywhere near the title track.

Here is a recap then (I don't like browsing that much ;) ):

Son Of A Gun
Tattooed Millionaire
Born In '58
Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter
Darkness Be My Friend

Cyclops
Hell No
Change Of Heart
Tears Of The Dragon
No Way Out...To Be Continued

Space Race
Back From The Edge
Inertia
Solar Confinement
Innerspace

Taking The Queen
Darkside Of Aquarius
Accident Of Birth
Omega
Arc Of Space

The chorus is different and that part is great, the rest of the song doesn't live up to it.

Voting for Tyranny of Souls. Be branded and exiled!

Well it just doesn't clik with me. It starts with weird non-rhythm intro, which goes too abruptly into the chorus. The chorus is good, but it's like the tenth similar ultra-melodic chorus on the album in a row, so it loses some impact. For instance, Power of the Sun chorus melody is almost identical. I really like the guitars in the background though. Then it goes back to non-rhythm, but this time with drums, which sounds extra-clunky. It gets better after the second chorus, but it doesn't really save it

I actually prefer some songs from this album that are gone already, like Power of the sun and Eternal. Nothing wrong with a bit of Pink Floyd thrown in :D
Like for instance, Mr Gilmour impression on Omega, love it

Everyone of these four is Bruce at his absolute finest, clearly better than anything you're defending except Book of Thel imo.

Agree
The Tower must be the grooviest Bruce song, my body immediately starts moving on its own when I hear it
The Alchemist has a great atmosphere, and especially the lyrics <3

And Navigate is great, I don't mind the "repetition" at all, it even contains some lyrics that don't appear earlier in the song. It does suffer from lack of energy though. Could be the production thing

Agree about the groove, although Starchildren is very groovy too.
Those are Roy's latin influences I guess. You can really hear them throughout the album
I remember Bruce saying in an interview that he feels much more freedom regarding the groove than in (rhythmically confined) Maiden

Interesting observations. I think what "saves" the song though (apart from the chorus, despite its lack of originality) is the end of the solo section with the chorus following on its heels.

@frus @Black Bart Lack of originality? I think that's wrong. The first line in the Tyranny chorus indeed sounds as the one in Power of the Sun. However: the chorus contains more than that. Also the music, the riffing does a great deal, I think.

More important: it's the other way around: Tyranny of Souls was a song written a while earlier. Bruce wanted to do it with Halford and Tate. That didn't work out so it ended up on his solo album. Of course, Power of the Sun could have been written earlier, but that's not that logical. At least we know that Tyranny was done way before the album preparation. So: Most Power of the Sun vocal lines in the chorus sound like four words from A Tyranny of Souls.

King in Crimson, Navigate. Not a helpful contribution, but there's far too much good stuff here. I'd take these two albums over the vast majority of Bruce's other work.

I haven't decided what to do yet. Either just Soul Intruders and River are gone and we have another round, or those two + Broken are eliminated, remaining 5 songs from Tyranny are promoted and therefore the remaining songs from TCW too and we enter the finals. Haven't decided yet. Will update tonight, hopefully someone can vote and break the Abduction/Broken tie until then.
