Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Broken
I feel the same way and I voted for it. It's much better than a lot of songs getting half the votes. And Return of the King is better still.Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Broken

Ms. Hill, I find myself agreeing more with your choices more than most Maidenfans, but not this time.
Trumpets is mediocre and you missed the two best Wedding songs in your top four.
I wouldn't go as far as calling Trumpets mediocre, I think it is pretty good. But top half of the album? No way.
I'm assuming the top 2 for you are Book of Thel and the title track, right? I'm afraid they've burned out on me. Much like Between the Wheels on the Rush survivor.
You seem to place more importance on the lyrics than I do, lyrics are almost always secondary for me, they usually won't make or break a song. Trumpets is a good song, and I agree with your points on it, but when pit up against the other stuff, it doesn't stand a chance, imoEh, I think the lyrics are among the best on the album. I also love how the song takes you through different stages of emotion. The chorus sounds so frustrated, and the verses sound like they're taunting you. And I just love the bridge/pre-chorus (not sure about the proper terminology). He sounds determined, yet ultimately powerless. I just think there's so much going in this song from an emotional standpoint.
And of course that breakdown. Ah, so menacing. It doesn't quite get to that level menacing that's present in A Tyranny of Souls, No Way Out... To Be Continued, or Cyclops, but it's still a really cool moment. Especially that brief moment of chaos (4:08-4:15) before everything falls back into place.
I don't know. I think there's a lot of really cool stuff in this song.
Silver Wings? WTF?
