Good and bad comes in many colours. I really like these.:)

I hope Blaze gets down on earth again soon because he's trying to do too much with too little.
Ignoring or not understanding his music is one thing, but criticizing someone's drive to do something with it is another. Perhaps he should have cancelled the video, or do some different poses. I don't really see what else could be done. I find the music too good to be annoyed about it.

I get that. but get realistic..you're making a video that's supposed to look like a million dollars but you only have $5...logic tells you it's going to look like shit. And it does. I'm not questioning his drive...he is obviously very driven...

OK. It looks lik a poor man's attempt at a real video. That's all I wanted to say...And some of those group poses with the choir? Jesus Christ...:D

After a shaky start, I really love the new album, and can't wait for Parts 2 & 3. And yes, as much as I love Blaze and support him, the new video just looks too cheap to be taken seriously at all. I understand he has a tiny budget for videos. What I'd suggest he do would be to ask his fans to get involved in the process for things he's...not so good at. Like the booklet that came with the limited edition of Soundtracks of My Life. Great little history on his work, but damn did that thing need an editor. I write a sci-fi/fantasy series and hire a professional editor to cover all my bases, but I'd have been happy to edit that booklet of Blaze's for free, or at most for a free copy of whatever I was working on for him.

He doesn't have millions of fans like Maiden, but surely one of them out there might have some professional video editing experience, or have a friend looking to pad his portfolio. Some stylistic color correction on the video wouldn't have fixed all the issues with the video, but it would have made a world of difference.

No stop.

This is just the same old video over again...Blaze doesn't need "some guy with experience"....He needs a management.

Volunteer! :)

I'll keep an eye out on his future projects from now on to see where I could possibly help and offer my services, which, as I mentioned above, would probably be just cleaning up something like that limited edition booklet. That thing just seemed like something he just wrote up and released the rather sloppy first draft--his actual CD booklets seem pretty well put together. As for video editing services, I'd do more harm than good!

Inevitably, there is sadness when he discusses his departure from the band. He understands the logic behind it. “They had to make a business decision,” he says. “Getting Bruce back, it was the right thing to do. Look at what they’ve done since. I don’t think anything bad of the guys.”
“Music is my life. I put my heart and soul into it. My hero was Ronnie James Dio. He worked until he died. And that’s what I intend to do. All that matters now is that I just keep going. For me, that is the dream.”

Wow, Blaze singing Blood Brothers is incredibly weird...I know it was meant for him originally, but damn am I just so used to hearing Bruce belt it out. Sounds really cool, though.

I'm happy to see Como Estais Amigos getting some acknowledgement. I love that song. One of the best Blaze tracks, IMO.

I wonder why he does not choose to release Blood Brothers himself (under his own name). And what would the credits look like?

I read an interesting BNW review on Metal Archives recently, by someone named "kluseba". He wrote the following:

"“Brave New World” has always been a mixed bag for me. Many songs on the album were still written with Blaze Bayley in the band. If I take into consideration how great Blaze Bayley’s first solo record “Silicon Messiah” turned out to be, I would have adored listening to a record that mixes the best tracks from that solo release and this comeback album with new old members Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith in the band. Most fans may disagree but I think a potential third record with Blaze Bayley would have been the better possibility.

As strange as it may sound, Blaze Bayley’s darker, very emotional and more grounded vocals would have fit better than Bruce Dickinson’s more expressive, high-pitched and theatrical tones on most songs of the record. A good example would be the melancholic ballade "Blood Brothers" that sounds a little bit too epic for a thoughtful swansong dedicated to Steve Harris' late father. "Dream of Mirrors" is a progressive metal song with a cumbersome atmosphere that could have found its righteous place on the previous release and would have been the best song on that album. I'm really imagining Blaze Bayley's darker and more emotional vocals each time I hear the song and think Bruce Dickinson's vocals sound too forced and strained on this track. Overall, this new record feels as if two worlds collided: the slower, epic and emotional tracks written in cooperation with Blaze Bayley and the more traditional, straighter and faster songs developed with Bruce Dickinson. These two sides don't always fusion well. While Bruce Dickinson performs truly well on the tracks he was involved in, he doesn’t manage to add that certain human and yet magic touch to the songs written without him in the band."

I'm not saying I 100 % agree... but there's something to consider.

Definitely. Brave New World never actually quite clicked with me.
