Be'lakor is more death metal though.
Thank you for the recommendation! Will check later.
It's been a while since I heard a new black metal band that impressed me this fast. It's epic as fuck and magnificently produced. They don't try to be über kvlt gr1m frostb1tt3n with the lyrics or image or album cover which is also a plus.
They are playing their first ever live show in Glasgow on April 26, you should totally go @CriedWhenBrucieLeft
Are they from Scotland or are they just randomly playing their first live gig in Glasgow?
They are from New Zealand originally, but the main guy and girl (who are married) moved to Scotland because of uni.
A married couple in a black metal band? That sounds so un-black metallish.
Ihsahn doesn't like this.
What's also unusual is that the girl is primarily a guitarist in the band (although she does do some vocals too).
Very nice acoustic guitars! I'll listen to the whole album.
Interesting melodic black with cool vocals:
And to think Maiden's choruses get criticism.
ABBATH -Official- bass player 'King' will no longer be part of the band, due to conflicting views on lyrical concepts of the upcoming album. The lyrics are inspired by Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Gustav Jung. King finds that Jung’s connection to Christian mysticism is incompatible with the image of the band.
King comments: “I wish the members of the actual band, label, and crew all the best for the upcoming shows and the new album. The music itself is nothing short of brilliant! However, I must maintain artistic integrity and respectfully step aside.”
Abbath will soon give an official statement about King's departure. No shows will be cancelled!
Jolly ol' tune

This is pretty good. Really melodic and not what I would think of as black metal, but I like it.
In some parts sounds almost like power metal.
I would have put it down as melodic death metal.
