I listen to a lot of non metal too. It's only very recently that I've gotten into the more hardcore stuff. Obviously you can tell by my list that I don't know too much about the scream genre.

Suggestions:

Floor Jansen is one of the -if not THE- best female vocalist(s) in rock/metal. Maybe one should see her live to believe this. She beats a lot of men handsdown as well.

Growler:
Christian Älvestam
who growled/screamed/grunted and sang on the first three Scar Symmetry albums.

OK, since not a lot of people took part in this game, I decided to make a list by myself. I used ALL the vocalists you suggested on this topic (without exceptions) and then added A LOT of vocalists which IMO deserve to be on the list. I need more vocalists to fill in some groups (marked in red), and then the eliminations start. If you have any ideas of how to improve the lists, or you think some vocalists don't deserve to be on these lists and some do, feel free to express your opinion, and maybe I will change the lists :cheers:

How about Johan Längqvist, from Candlemass' first album? I love him, but I'm fine with leaving him out if you guys don't think hes good enough.

Elvis, (you should add Edith Piaff and Amália Rodrigues  too  ;) ), Charles Aznavour,  Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Jussi Björling, John Lennon and Paul Mccartney.

I have a punk rock vocalist, not sure if that counts (I hope he can, because Paul McCartney can also be seen as Rock).

He is Greg Graffin, the brilliant singer (and songwriter) from Bad Religion. He is the reason that I dig this band (the only punk rock band I really love). His melodies and lyrics are pretty hard to beat, and so his excellent accuracy when singing them.
