It's not a favorite Maiden song ever list, it's a track by track list. So for number 1 you put your fav opener, for number 2 your favorite second song on an album, etc.

Can I just name a favourite 3 or 4 tracks for a number of tracks?  :innocent: Bolded ones are the ones I'd pick if I had to choose only 1 song.

1.  Where Eagles Dare, Aces High, Caught Somewhere in Time, Moonchild (CSiT is my favourite song of all time, but some excellent openers)
2. Children of the Damned, Revelations, Infinite Dreams, Wasted Years (any of these could be #1 on any given day)
3. Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Prisoner, Sea of Madness, Afraid to Shoot Strangers (like track 2, any of these could be #1 on any given day)
4. Phantom of the Opera, Die With Your Boots on, The Evil That Men Do, Blood Brothers (not that close but still some good songs)
5. Transylvania, The Duellists, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Dance of Death (some excellent songs including Maiden's best instrumental)
6. Still Life, Back in the Village, Stranger in a Strange Land, Isle of Avalon (2 very close songs with Back in the Village and Isle of Avalon a distant 3rd)
7. Powerslave, The Clairvoyant, The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg (Powerslave trumps everything before it)
8. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Only the Good Die Young, Paschendale (HBTN just edges out Rime)
9. Purgatory, To Tame a Land (easiest choice so far)
10. The Legacy, When the Wild Wind Blows (not too much choice)
11. Journeyman (not much choice)
12. Fear of the Dark (what choice?)
 
Much tougher than the worst track by track, obviously, since Maiden have so much great material. I'm going to throw Fear of the Dark on the end anyway because well, even though I'm tired of it live, it is obviously one of their greatest songs.

11. The Unbeliever (I love The Journeyman and if we went with live versions, it'd win out for sure, but I'm in love with the Unbeliever's chorus)

Wow. Mine's a pretty damn good collection from across all eras. It's funny how Fear of the Dark fills much of my bottom tier but is tied with Seventh Son and The X Factor for the most representation. To be fair, it's that default inclusion that brings it up there.

Interesting. Most of the above is still there, although quite a few songs have changed for me. If I don't say anything for that particular track, then the above still holds true.
1. Caught Somewhere in Time (those other songs are still up there, but CSIT is CSIT)
2. Infinite Dreams, (Revelations has dropped massively, the others are still very close)
3. Afraid to Shoot Strangers (the other 3 songs from before are still extremely close and Lightning Strikes Twice is coming up to this level)
4. Phantom of the Opera
5. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
6. Stranger in a Strange Land (Still Life is very close)
7. Powerslave
8. Rime of the Ancient Mariner (edges out Paschendale, and Hallowed has dropped a lot although not as much as Revelations)
9. To Tame a Land
10. When the Wild Wind Blows
11. The Unbeliever (Journeyman isn't that good anymore)
