New thread idea!
List the the 5 favorite reasons why Cried hates lists, 3 least favorite reasons he hates them
Climax doesn't mean "end." Structurally the title track can definitely be considered the album's climax. It wraps up the first half of the album and ties together the thematic elements. The only other real contender is Empire of the Clouds, but that track is so far removed musically and lyrically from everything else on the album that I have a hard time seeing it as a meaningful climax.Does the second disc not count?
I've found myself in the Judas Priest thread quite a lot just so I can read some music discussion. And I don't have any real interest in Judas Priest. It is definitely starting to feel like most threads are just lists, so I share a lot of Cried's frustrations. There's a severe lack of interesting discussion around Maiden related topics for that reason. The prostitute thread is a surprising breath of fresh air. The separate subforum for pointless lists can't come soon enough. It also seems like a lot of actual discussions or potential discussions have been derailed by spammers. But maybe that's just me.
That's true, but I for one see TBOS as build-up to "Empire of the Clouds". Not that the rest isn't good, because it's fantastic, but as soon as that piano bit begins, somehow, it gets even better. For me Empire is definitely the climax - and the climax of that is the "here lie their dreams" bit - but then it's also my favorite song period, so...Climax doesn't mean "end."
