I Want it All: One of the songs that contributed to my interest in hard rock. An absolute favourite song (of any band) when it came out, and quite a time afterwards. Nowadays I appreciate a lot more different bands, but still a great track.
I think it's probably also something like Queen being the intersection of the various sets of bands we all like. Have you ever seen a post here about Queen that wasn't positive?
I actually think there's a real chance Queen could win this survivor. Practically all their music is terribly overexposed, but in spite of that, still good.
@mckindog
When we have a top 10, will you compare these positions with their history charting success (and/or other level of exposure)?
Radio airplay could not be easy to measure(?), but perhaps other stuff is.
It sort of is. Radio stations have to keep a log of everything they play, to pay the copyright fees. Problem is, these logs are never made public. "Easy to measure" isn't the problem, it's about "easy to get hold of the measurements".
Probably the only time in this game I won't vote for Iron Maiden or Yes. Run To the Hills is an average song that I've gotten sick of because of how overplayed it is and I can't stand that Yes song. Even before I knew it was a radio staple, that song never did it for me. I also find it odd that it got so popular, compared to other songs on that album alone.
I'm going to sound like a certain iconic board member now, but I'm frustrated with how little you guys appreciate the 90s.
Is there a single Soundgarden, Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam song with any chances to advance even to the next round?
