Anti-MAIDEN Message On Back Of OZZFEST Tshirt?

gor

Ancient Mariner
An IRON MAIDEN fan with the screen name "Kaz96133" has posted the following message on the official MAIDEN message board:

"Went to Ozzfest in Mansfield yesterday and noticed something on the back of the official [Ozzfest] T-shirt. At the bottom of tour dates, the words 'Iron Maiden' were written in Japanese and were crossed out with red circle and a slash. Check out the photo I took [a href=\'http://www.ironmaiden.org/showthread.php?t=56987\' target=\'_blank\']here[/a]. This is clearly an anti-MAIDEN message, and this is an OFFICIAL T-shirt!

"Does the band know about this? Is this some kind of inside-joke, or is Sharon [Osbourne] pissed at MAIDEN or something? If someone knows about it, please explain! Meanwhile, I would advise all MAIDEN fans out there NOT to buy this T-shirt. I was appalled because I saw so many people wearing this T-shirt yesterday."

For all we know, those are ideogrammes and may mean just about anything. Then again, even if they mean "Iron Maiden", so what?

Those retards over at the IMBB want to boycott or even burn the t-shirt. No need to get your knickers in a twist over such a puny thing, in my humble opinion. But it interesting to see that the spirit of the Inquisition and of the Nazis is somehow still alive. Let's have an auto da fe, shall we? Without a picture, I'm not moving this to rumors [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Cheers

Well, what could Maiden have done to piss off her Highness, Sharon Osbourne?

Jealousy; upstaging nearly 90% of the talent free ass-clowns that have ever been on an Ozzfest bill.

Alright, for all of you bozos who couldn't be bothered to read the Blabbermouth thread, which does contain some useful info amongst all the whiny BS:

The "no-Maiden" symbol appears next to the listing of the final Ozzfest tour dates on the shirt, and simply means "no Maiden at these shows". It is NOT some kind of anti-Maiden message.

So quit yer yapping about "why does Sharon hate Maiden". She doesn't.

Hey, I'm the one who originally posted about this matter in the official Maiden BB and there are few things that I want to point out. First of all, if you want to see the T-shirt, here it is:

[a href=\'http://www.fanfire.com/images/product/large/OOS36888.jpg\' target=\'_blank\']http://www.fanfire.com/images/product/large/OOS36888.jpg[/a]

And this is the one I took using my cell phone:

[a href=\'http://129.21.204.99/ozzfestantimaidenshirt.jpg\' target=\'_blank\']http://129.21.204.99/ozzfestantimaidenshirt.jpg[/a]

As you see, there are no dates indicated in the back of this T-shirt, just the list of city names. This list is not divided into any sections, so there's no way you could tell which cities Maiden's skipping. Besides, the city on top of this list is Donington, UK, which Maiden wasn't involved in. So this no-Maiden symbol couldn't possibly mean "no Maiden at these shows" like some of you guys think.

And for those of you saying "who cares, it's in Japanese..." Well, I care because I can read it. Just imagine yourself being the only one in the crowed getting this "message." If you're a huge Maiden fan, you would be upset, wouldn't you? And why did it have to be in Japanese anyway? Clearly, someone who made this shirt didn't have the courage to write it in English.

Anyway, I just hope that they'll stop selling these T-shirts right away, because it's very unprofessional thing to do.

Poor little darling... Been losing any sleep over this?

Right. Japanese or not, the name "Iron Maiden" crossed out is no big deal. If you can't eat or shit until they've withdrawn those t-shirts from sale (which they won't, so good luck!), I suggest intense psychotherapy. Morons like you give a bad name to Maiden fans who have a brain and can use it properly (which is obviously not your case) and should not be allowed out. There are special institutions where you belong.

Have a nice -- angry, frustrated, miserably useless -- life! [!--emo&--]/huh.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'huh.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

No need to get personal eh?

If Sharron hated Maiden do you honestly think theyd make them co headliners?
This isnt news anymore its discussion so moving there now

Well I'm not saying anything against Sharon; the Osbournes are by far my favorite celebrity family in existence and I value Ozzy more than anyone else in the entertainment business.

I personally don't think its that big a deal if Maiden is in japanese and crossed out or not...in the grand scheme of things, no one's gonna know or give a shit [!--emo&:P--]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Wow, this is one of the silliest things I've seen in a long time. Somehow, I doubt that Mrs. Osbourne would launch a deliberate attack on Iron Maiden, who by all accounts are bringing more people to her concerts than any other band, without the band's permission. I'm sure Steve Harris gets a kick by watching people overreact at this stupid thing. Come to think of it, I get a kick out of it too!

No further comment necessary...

Much of what you guys are talking about is business. Even I understand that, coming from a country with little recent history of private business. [!--emo&:D--]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Yeah. Remeber Eddie with Ozzy's head in a hand? [!--emo&:)--]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Well, after all this. this scenario that some rushed to bash becomes more and more believable. Also, some guy at the Maiden BB said that he knew that Sharon had asked Maiden for $10.000 to put their logo on the tshirt and the japanese idegram that was crossed out was a reaction to Maiden's refusal to pay for it.

Considering what has happened now, I think you may want to re-think this comment, LC...
