Alexander The Great some day!

Clearly H dug his heals in, & everyone sniggered when Janick piped up that he'd play the "tricky" bit. (Just think, if only Brucie had come back, we'd probably all have heard AtG live by now! :P)

Well the Early Days was a 4 album block, whereas SBiT contained tracks only from SSOASS and before - so clearly not the next '4 albums only', instead I would expect it to be a more of a 'tour revisit'... in which case FOTD still does not fit! The only way Fear would fit is it the history covered up to FOTD album but then why is that the only post-SSOASS track. It may well be a crowd pleaser but they didn't do it on History part 1, and it's the only one that doesn't fit in a tour revisit, so I think replacing ATG is quite a good reason tbh.

Still bugs me that fro the early days we got 6 from Iron Maiden and only 3 fro NOTB, being the same 3 that are heard at every single gig.

I was thinking this only the other day. I listened to the Ullevi 05 show, then listened to NotB, and thought, "hang on, why the hell did they not play Prisoner, Children of the Damned or 22 Acacia Avenue?".

Then again, there is a lot from just the first few albums that was missed out. In addition to those I listed from NotB, the song Killers, Still Life and Flight of Icarus where all automatic selections in my mind when I heard they were doing an early days tour.

Why does Bruce Hate SIT, Ya a lot of it was synthesized but I honestly love the album. I just realized that they only played TLOTLDR once and then replaced it with Sea of Madness I never thought Maiden would make a move like that.

Bruce was in a really dark place during the writing of SIT (he nearly broke down on the World Slavery Tour) and his contributions to the album were all rejected.

So its not the album hes just angry, thats not cool. Video of the Breakdown?

Steve said that Bruce was just really burned out from the World Slavery Tour at the time. Bruce said at one point that he wanted the album to be Maiden's Physical Graffiti, and that instead they just made another Maiden album. (Don't really agree with him there, Somewhere In Time is one of the better classic Maiden albums IMO)

Cried when Brucie left, but his judgement, if this be it, sucks. SiT is the best sounding album Maiden have made, in my opinion --& there's some stunning song writing on their too. "Another Maiden album" indeed...

I used to have the view the synth was far too heavy in the mix on SiT... about a month ago  :innocent:
it still bothers me here and there but ive been drumming it into myself to give it a chance and CSiT, SiaSL and ATG have all benfitted greatly
If they hold bad memories for brucey though i dont see why thats a poor reason to avoid it for him, afterall musics art and he doesnt want to visit a bleak part of his artistic history... The rest of the band should completely ignore him and play it instrumentally though cause that wouldnt alienate anyone
And yeah foro Adrian forgetting the solo does seem a bit convenient... or just giving an excuse, he is a perfectionist but im sure if they really wanted to play it he could be creative and make something equally amazing to patch over anything he doesnt feel he can pull off.

Well, the fans clearly want it and the other 5 members of the band want it, so for bruce to be the only obstacle is a bit silly.

I'd rather hear it instrumentally than not at all!!!

I'd be highly surprised it the only reason they don't play it is Bruce. That hardly seems likely to stop Steve Harris.

Thats pretty true, as much as Steve has been the drive behind Maiden since its inception... he does rather take a firm hold of the reigns.

I know this is beside the point but I, for one, would KILL to hear Blaze try Alexander in its original key

i can never forget in that infamous video where someone soat at steve how horribly he sang trooper. i thought it mustve been the situation... i looked into other shows, it wasnt the situation
rawrawrawrawraw O.o
i think him singing atg would go equally well to be honest... we can all set fire to ourselves if that ever happens

 as we all know what i really meant ill just bask in the thought of steve and blaze harmonising their shouting to the trooper
