Adrian, Janick and Dave's guitars and Steve's basses

Can anybody tell me what did Adrian's 2010 rack include? Correct me if i'm wrong: I can see (from top to bottom), both Ibanez Tube Screamers, 2 Jim Dunlop cry baby rack units, Rocktron Hush Super C, Lexicon MX200 (main and spare I'd say), a Roland GR20 guitar synth, 2 Marshall JMP 1's and finally a Marshall 9200. I've always loved Adrian's tone from that era, but some things confuse me, for example, what's that thing above the pedals? A Furman power conditioner or something like that? And also, what's the black thing between both Tube Screamers and the rack unit below the Lexicons? (I'm too stupid when it comes to rack and all of that stuff)

P.S: During SBIT did he use this same setup?

Above the pedals is the Shure wireless.

JMP's and 9200 were not used. The tone was all DSL's. Also the Roland synth was left there from AMLOAD, but not used. The pedal between TSs is likely a chorus.

The signal path was very simple at that point.

Guitar->CryBaby->Tube Screamer->Chorus->Front of DSL->FX send->Lexicon->Rocktron Hush-> FX return of DSL

TBH, his signal path is still similar. But has more pedals, DSLs were replaced by JVMs and Lexicons were replaced by HX effects.

Well, I'd say Adrian's rig is average in size. Dave'swas also quite simple (before Fractal).

His was:
Guitar->CryBaby->UniVibe->Tube Screamer->Jmp1->TC G Force->Power amp (either 9200 or the power section of DSL). Nowadays it is Guitar->CryBaby->Fractal.

Most of touring rigs that incorporate an amp are built this way nowadays. Guitar->Pedals->Power amp->FX processor->Power amp

Yeah all pretty straightforward - except the pedal between the two TS808s is a switch, not a chorus. I believe the Peavey TubeFX rack unit was doing modulation, (chorus..)

Davey's rig is pretty similar to how it was with the JMP1's - just that the Axe FX III is providing the JMP1 sound rather than actual JMP1 units. I'd say modulation and delay are also from Axe FX units.. He also has the 9200s to power cabs on stage.

I'm pretty sure that they are still taking a feed from the cabs being mic'd up as well as the Axe III D.I and also a Palmer speaker simulator somewhere. Pooch obviously likes a few options at FOH, as well as monitors having the D.I from Axe III if I remember correctly.
As shown on Tater's stage boxes (from his instagram), there's definitely a few channels of guitar going around between Davey and H (5 channels for H guitar!), and Jan has 5 on another stage box.

I do wonder what the FX Left and FX right is (for both Jan and H) - I know H has done some stereo FX before but I don't know if that's his on stage cabs running stereo?
As would have thought the TUL was from at least one cab already (TUL is a mic brand)

Yeah, that's a switch probably for engaging the two loops the TS's are in. Was on mobile before and I can see it better now.

I'd say that during TFP, Dave didn't only use JMP 1 sound from the Fractal, but he also used some Gallien Krueger models in there. SIT songs sounded so close to the original sound, that I doubt that sound was achieved with JMP sounds with choruses in the loop. Also SIT songs sounded different than the other songs in the set. Especially the solos. I'd say they used a different model for at least solos. Another massive difference is a stereo output of the Fractal that made the chorus effect on Dave's sound much bigger.

According to Pooch, most of the Dave sound is currently Fractal DI. He has 1 microphone on there probably just in case (used to have 2 when he was running JMP's).

I think the Palmer line for Dave is there just in case they go back to JMP's. Because it makes absolutely 0 sense with Fractal, since everything is done in the box. The Janick/Adrian FX signals should be some kind of DI's taken from the path before they return to power amps.

Ahh yep thats a good point - I just wonder if the L & R signals are perhaps coming from the on stage cabs (at least for H) as I'm not sure what other audio source his rig would have that is able to be provided to FOH in stereo..

When I saw them in September last year, I of course waited for 10 minutes after everyone had started to leave to try get a glimpse of the gear - Davey H and Jan all running 2x 4x12 cabs each, so definitely possible that at least for H and Jan, their FX L&R are just the cabs mic'd up. I suspect the ISO & TUL channels for H at least, are possibly both actually ISO cab signals perhaps, so that he's got two ISO speaker-mic'd dry channels of H's guitar (without effects on it), and the cab signals are wet... And I'd say same for Jan..

Maybe more complicated than we thought, at least in terms of routing!
