2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

Chile is having a great World Cup too. This isn't just about Spain doing shit, but also about Chile emerging.

I expected Chile to be a pain in the ass for Spain and Netherlands before the tournament (well organized team who plays modern football and has star power with Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal), could even vision them taking one of the two out. My prediction was, however, Netherlands.

Except Lars would never qualify for an awesomeness competition in the first place. He is more like the San Marino of the qualifier for the awesomeness competition.

Spain have been so poor in the first half, but Chile have played very well, at a high intensity, and crowding the Spanish out at every opportunity. Looks like the champions are going out! xD

Defending champions of 2002 (France) and 2010 (Italy) were eliminated in the group stage. Looks like we're going to see the same thing again. Only difference is, the collapse of Spain in this tournament also is the collapse of a football strategy that dominated 2008-2012. Goodbye, tiki taka.

Do you know this day is the last one of Juan Carlos as the King of Spain? He abdicated this afternoon.

Talking about coincidences. It's the end of two eras.

I think Spain should either play a style that is close to Arsene Wenger's quick passing play that values midfield agility, or a style that is close to what Atlético used this year. They have the players to be a dominant team in both styles.

The first would be awesome to watch, they have both the agility and the passing ability. And their defense isn't lacklustre (when handled well) like Arsenal.

You know, if Spain goes down here, and then loses the next game as well to Australia (certainly possible if the Aussies play like they did against the Netherlands), they could not only lose but have the worst record on points and GD. From first to last. Right now they're -6.
