News 18th Studio Album discussion

How can you be sure?

Because there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that they have recorded an album, no comments from the band, no facebook posts from guys like Dennis Stratton letting info slip, no pictures of Kevin Shirley outside a studio or Dave Murray in a different hemisphere from where he usually lives etc.,

There's also tons of evidence to suggest that there is no album recorded, comments from Bruce saying he wants (future tense) to do an album but there's no plans, Steve saying there's no plans and seeming like he doesn't want to do a new album, confirmation that they are not doing anything in 2027 which would make no sense if they already have an album in the bag as why would they keep it until 2028 at the earliest? These could be all outright lies but I don't think Maiden operate like that, if anything Bruce is extremely likely to let info like that slip out.

I'm not saying there definitely won't be a new album, but as of right now, it is not already recorded.

My view is that the band will either reconvene in 2027 to record an album and do a 'regular' tour in 2028, or if that is not the case then we are essentially seeing a soft winding down of the band, no new music, and a far smaller slate of tour dates based around stadiums and large outdoor venues exclusively for a few more years until they call it a day. Unfortunately at the moment my thoughts are tending towards the latter option.
Looks like there could be a window open for recording a new album in the summer of 2027 if they want to. Bruce's new album is probably out in the spring, and he has only mentioned touring plans for November and December 2027, so there is a big gap in between which could be for Maiden. Maybe this is what they will discuss when rehearsals start? If they have one more album in them or not.

I’m still waiting for a Senjutsu album interview by Steve and… why he thanked all people who worked for The band through their career?
I think he did that in case it was their last album. That’s also why he wrote four epics on his own, he used more or less all ideas he had.

But part of the direction of Senjutsu was me thinking: “If this is to be our last album, then I want to use some of the bigger ideas that I’ve got.”

Maybe because the documentary and book were in the works and so Steve had been in touch with the various people he thanked. There was a photo that surfaced from around then of Steve with a few of the early days guys in Steve's bar at his house in Essex.

Or maybe Steve knew it could likely be the last album.

Bruce said "retirement sucks" in his Senjutsu notes. So if it does turn out to be the last album we can't say the signs weren't there.

I rhink there will not be another album it depends of how they feel.about touring. This year and as rod said they want to tour and tour. There are hints of them thinking about songs to play it live so.... it seems that going to studio record and then wait for the album to be out and then tour is a lot of time.

The search function on this forum isn't very user-friendly. I can never find anything.
But there was an interview with Adrian where, a few weeks before the announcement of *Senjutsu*, he said there were no plans for a new album.
I don't remember the exact quote.
But the interviewer said something along the lines of, “Adrian, You've been pulling our leg.”
