18th Studio Album discussion

Dave is always meant to be more reluctant to tour than the rest of them. Jan spends his time watching Hartlepool so i imagine he will be keen to keep going
.. would still like to hear Daves solo album now.

The RFYL 2026 is longer than Future Past 2024. It is much longer than Future Past 2023. It is the longest run of Maiden dates since Legacy 2022. Through no fault of his own, Nicko's health was limiting their touring I guess.

Steve, Bruce and even Adrian seem energetic enough for more musical activity in their annual calendar. Janick seems fine with it, like a good soldier. Dave is the question mark but it seems speculation rather than anything he has actually been recorded as saying about wanting to tour less.

So why not a new album in 2027? Record and release in the same year, making a six year gap since Senjutsu. Give them a break from the road and tour it in 2028.

IMO Maiden will keep touring as long as Steve (mainly) and Bruce are willing and able to perform. At this point, they are the only irreplaceable members of the band. I don't like to see any of the 3 amigos replaced, but I think if Dave or Adrian retires before the band call it quits, Steve will get a replacement and continue touring. I believe Janick will be there till the last minute, as he seems to be the most energetic of the 3 (or maybe the most energetic of the whole band).

As for the new album, I strongly believe we will get it in 2028, if not late 2027.

Since Bruce has already stated that 2027 will see the release of a new solo album, I'm not sure they will fit a Maiden album in there as well (along with promo and other stuff). 2027 is probably clear in the band calendar but I'm sure Steve will work with the live stuff from Paris.

You have a point there. I forgot about the live album...Hopefully they will record album #18 in 2027 and release in 2028. Even with all the solo/side projects and a live album release in 2027; I don't think it is hard to find a 6-8 week gap in 52 weeks to record a new album.
