    Favorite band member?

Adrian has always been my favourite member of the band but if I had to hang out with one of the guys it would probably be Janick. there are a few posts here saying he seems to be a down to earth guy. I worked with a guy who lived in a neighbouring village in the northeast of England, somwhere...

    Dance of death

Paschendale, Dance of Death, No More Lies, Journeyman, Rainmaker, Face in the Sand, Wildest Dreams (great solo), Age of Innocence, Montsegur. only my opinion but those songs make Dance of death one of my favourite Maiden albums. I dont think Paschendale will ever be bettered....

    The Final Frontier charts' thread

here here. Ok Johnglen so generally speaking Maiden isnt as big in America as it is in Brazil for example. Who cares? What's the population of the States? I gain who cares but even a small fraction of them loving Maiden, going to see their SOLD OUT shows, buying their music to get them near the...

    The Final Frontier charts' thread

How can nearly 62,000 album sales be pathetic?? And what is wrong with people from the U.S? Why have you got a problem with them/ it's a big, diverse country full of people with different tastes, be it metal, country, Rn'B, dance, classical etc etc. To get an album even in the top 10 without...

Are you pleased with Maiden's direction?

it wasnt mastered (on Steve's orders) - although it might not sound as clean and polished as mastered tracks it was done to give a "live" feel to it.

Are you pleased with Maiden's direction?

Maiden's new direction? I'd call it a natural progression. Iron Maiden now are not the same young men from the east end of London who crafted their art playing in smoky pubs and clubs across England in the late 70's and early 80's. They arent the same band as the one that recruited a Worksop...

    Favourite bass riffs

Sorry if this has been done before but i havent come across it. Not everyone is in to Maiden becuase of the guitar solos. I think we can all appreciate what goes into a song to make it a great song. Take Mr Harris for example, not only the founder member and prolific song writer he's also a...

Which song(s) contain(s) your favourite guitar solo(s): FINAL FOURTEEN

Stranger in a Strange Land and Blood Brothers Following Foro's strict instruction I didnt vote for Paschendale (as this is my favourite song) but went for the thing of beauty that is H's solo on Stranger and Blood Brother's is (in my most humble of opinions) Janick's best contribution ever...

    Predictions on Setlist?

it would be cool if some unpredictable songs were played but they will probably stick to a winning formula that has (am I right??) been lapped up by audiences all over the globe since 1980 or so. Yeah We'll probably get Hallowed and Iron Maiden and Beast but so what? I never get tired of...

Is it possible to be a true Maiden fan without being a metal fan?

torrent of abuse accepted.  it wasnt that i didnt care for the band anymore, it was a more a collection of the fact that Adrian (my fav member of the band), the follow up album to seventh son being weak by previous standards, and that I was an impressionable teenager being led...

Is it possible to be a true Maiden fan without being a metal fan?

Thanks for the replies guys. When I submitted this post I thought I was going to receive a torrent of abuse for eith being a N00b or for admitting I like to watch stuff like "The X Factor". I should have more faith in people's attitudes. I intend to try some Iced Earth from your comments as I'm...

Is it possible to be a true Maiden fan without being a metal fan?

The only reason I ask is that I have been a fan of Maiden since about 1985. I have seen them live six times and love the music. However that is probably where my affinity with metal pretty much ends. I have never bought a metal album by another band (I dont class AC/DC as metal - am I right?)...

I know it's childish but the thought of Perun or SMX saying they loved SHIT but didnt like ANAL so much made me giggle.

    New album: The Final Frontier!

Tracklisting finally announced for the new album It appears the band have taken up the spirit of Maidenfans users constant shortening of the song titles (AMOLAD, SIT, TETMD etc etc) and had some fun..... 1: Some Heroes In Time (Smith 3.55) 2: Cold October, Cold Killer (Harris 11.13) 3: A Night...

For the Church of H and all other respected Maidenfans ;)

Great poll Foro! God this is hard because there is something great about H's contribution on all of those albums.....er well maybe Hooks in You not so great. It's a toss up between 1983 for Flight of Icarus and Die With your Boots On being stand out tracks or 1986 Wasted Years, Sea of...

    New album: The Final Frontier!

here here. I like AMOLAD, think it is an amazing album, and is far from un-exciting. I also live a full and interesting life with many other interests. Jeff, I'm sure you didnt mean to be mean but as Perun says, show some respect, we all have differing opinions and different doesnt make then wrong.

    Official Football Thread

United were effectively down to 10 men as soon as Rooney's injury flared up and Fergie should have taken him off immediately. You can't excuse Rafael for being young and inexperienced. Even at that age he should have known better for the first yellow and then to haul Ribery back when he was...

    Official Football Thread

Simple answer: no Very depressed Man Utd fan after the game. The first half in particular was hard to watch with Chelsea dominating and taking a very deserved lead. second half we played better but it is clear to see that an ageing Scholes can no longer be the influential playmaker he used to...
