    18th Studio Album discussion

Perhaps keep Kevin but go back to the traditional method of recording instead of doing it live? The "cleanest" song on SJ was TWOTW which was also the only track not recorded live. I think returning to this method is going to be necessary given the age of the band and the amount of mistakes...

Iron Maiden in the strangest places

I just rediscovered a 1984 ad for Lucozade starring Daley Thompson and featuring Phantom on the soundtrack. This may have been the first Maiden song I ever heard as I'm sure I saw this as a kid.

I do miss Bruce's radio show. I'm surprised that he's not been picked up by some digital station like Planet Rock to revive it. https://www.loudersound.com/features/iron-maiden-bruce-dickinson-interviews-metallica-lars-ulrich

TXF is the dictionary definition of a drag. Nearly every song has the tempo of a dead tortoise and additionally, how many extended bass intros does one album actually need?

*I Live My Way has entered the chat Agree with this. It's just a jam with almost no structure. FOTD was a victim of the early 90s CD boom when record labels thought that squeezing more tracks onto the additional space the discs had over vinyl would result in more sales. Hence why for a good...

    To Tame a Land

I had this playing in the car on the way to see Dune: Part Two. Unfortunately it was queued up next to both the Toto soundtrack for Dune (1984) and Hans Zimmer's recent scores for the new movies and frankly, Maiden didn't stand a chance. TTAL is a decent warm-up for the epics that would come...

After a few more listens I come away with the conclusion that it's a rather dull album with a few highlights peppered throughout (like Shadow of the Gods). But Sonata really is quite crap.

I've only listened to the album once all the way through (and that was in the car) so I can't quite put down my thoughts yet. However, one thing that struck me was that Eternity Has Failed is just a remake of IESF with a few changes. I was under the impression that this was a sort-of sequel...

Did anyone check out the latest Chris Jericho podcast? On it, Bruce confirms that remixes are in the works for his early albums. Of all of his material, Balls to Picasso needs the most tlc as it's got such a weak mix. Thankfully, he did say that he plans to make it heavier so that's something...

My old man was a huge Badfinger fan and saw them a bunch of times in the 70's. Never got into them myself. Good album?
