Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Yeah, i thought that as well :p Considering how "different" his approach was on that album, it's really funny!

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

    I confess :funnypost:

No Prayer On The Road: The Dissection

I think we can all agree that this tour saw a much bigger emphasis on the band itself rather than backdrops/stage set, etc. The band was (sort of) re-energized with the addition of Janick and the energy onstage was just phenomenal on that tour. The "street" approach to the album, i think...

    Janick's role in post-reunion Maiden

I'm not at all a Janick basher. Quite the contrary. But i'm interested in knowing what do you guys percieve as being Janick's role/contribution to Maiden since Bruce and Adrian rejoined. To me, part of his songwritting has been a major factor in the band's sound, and also with three guitars...

Metal Hammer 2005 Special Edition on Maiden

In 2005 Metal Hammer issued a special 156 page edition dedicated only to Iron Maiden and it's (then) 30 year carreer. Does any of you have it and, if so, do you have scans and/or can you scan the pages? Just for the cover alone i'm guessing it should be awesome :notworthy: And thank you in...

    Is Live After Death Overrated?

Exactly. Many fans i know tend to recommend En Vivo. I think it's remarkable, btw, how for example on Flight 666 Bruce really hits the high notes on Aces High but, more than 20 years before, he was REALLY struggling with that one on LAD

    Is Live After Death Overrated?

I totally get that, but don't you realistically think there were much better live albums since?

    Is Live After Death Overrated?

Although i really appreciate this album, i've always felt that it's a bit overrated. Bruce in particular seems to be struggling a lot. What do you guys think? Is this album so highly regarded because of it's historical context?

    Best Non-DVD Full Concerts

I've been watching Maiden's 2005 gig in Ullevi (and loving it, btw) and i'm thinking about this... What do you guys think are the best non-dvd full concerts around from the band from each era/tour?

    Piece of Mind vs. Powerslave

You know, that order can actually work

    Piece of Mind vs. Powerslave

Lol yeah, sometimes i even question myself when i think too much :p But to be honest, i think POM solidified what Maiden was all about. I think although we can say TNOTB kind of set the template for what was to come, POM had a significant extra: Nicko. He's approach to drumming gave Maiden that...

    Piece of Mind vs. Powerslave

Interesting. Could you elaborate a bit more? I'm really curious about it :p What punkish influence do you hear between TNOTB and POM?

    Piece of Mind vs. Powerslave

Don't you think that transition from the punkish sound happened on TNOTB?

    Piece of Mind vs. Powerslave

I'm not exactly the kind of person who's constantly comparing albums, i much rather prefer talking about them individually. But in this case, and considering the fact that i've always loved Powerslave since i first heard it (it was my favourite Maiden album for quite a while), i really felt the...

The purpose of this thread is to discuss every single thing we want about songs from this album live. How they work/don't work live, your favourite performances, etc, etc, etc..... The first thing that came to my mind is this... If this is such an appreciated album by Maiden fans (as well as...
