Powerslave
CSIT
SSOASS - the guitar tone alone makes that chorus wonderful to my ears
The Book of Souls - beautiful chorus, love it
The Duellists
The Evil that Men Do
Hey guys, had a question or two about the San Bernardino show on July 1.
So, first off why does the start time say it's at 3:30 when every other show on this tour is at 6 or 7? Is Maiden going to be going on at like 5 in the afternoon? I also heard a rumor that it is like a mini festival and a...
Can't possibly do a solidified order of my 10 favorite, so here they are in no particular order
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Where Eagles Dare
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Stranger in a Strange Land
Alexander the Great
The Trooper
The Evil That Men Do
Out of the Silent Planet
Face in the Sand...
I get chills down my spine when the 3rd chorus ends and the throwback to the main riff kicks in. It just sounds so epic as Bruce is hitting that long note.
I actually really dig this cover a lot. It sounds great in the Powerslave sound and its got a nice little groove to it in the verses. Bruce kills it!
9/10
Chains of Misery is great. Sure it's not a typical Maiden song but it's a great tune. Bruce is almost putting a Mustaine-esqe snarl on the vocals in the verses:D
For me:
Aces High - absolutely incredible. Love the little grit he puts in the verses and then absolutely nails the high pitch harmony in the chorus.
Children of the Damned - album & Live After Death version
Where Eagles Dare - the long note at the end sends shivers down my spine
Sign of the...
Thought it would fun to share some songs from other bands that have parts that sound like Maiden songs or just have a Maiden-esqe sound to them.
Example: you hear a song and you think "hmm, sounds like Maiden".
You can even give some examples of newer Maiden songs having elements of older...
I hope the guitars sound a little different on TBOS. Do you all feel that the guitar sound on DOD, AMOLAD & TFF was the same? I want to see some faster-ish songs too!
Shadow got me going with those lyrics. Good work sir
What topics/ideas/stories that Maiden hasn't covered would you like to see them do songs about?
I've always thought that they could make some cool songs dealing with the Harry Potter series.
What album contains your favorite guitar sound/tone?
I have to go with SIT or Powerslave. The spacey-ness of SIT is epic and Powerslave's tone is perfect for the songs on that album. I especially feel that the guitar sound really gives off the feel of being on a ship at sea in ROTAM.
