    Shadows Of The Valley

Here's my theory: They'd gone into the studio off the back of the Maiden England World Tour, where they played Wasted Years, so I'm guessing it was still fresh in the heads(fingers) when they began pre-production on the album. Of course, I could be talking bollocks ha ha

    Shadows Of The Valley

The intro riff is pretty much played identical to Wasted Years, but that doesn't take anything away from the fact it's a great song. Paschendale's tapped intro is very similar too and the riff that kicks in around 5:40 in The Book of Souls (the Losfer Words section) is also similar, albeit in...

    Bruce Dickinson

Seems like he had the same mentality as me when I battled cancer 10 years ago, make a joke out of it instead of worrying! “People ask me if I’m planning to tour this year, and I say, ‘No, the reasons are too tumorous to mention…’ Well, that’s been my way of dealing with it,”

    Slayer

Looking forward to this album, I've been a Slayer fan since 1992 when they played Donington, so I'm interested in hearing how it'll sound without Jeff. I'm liking what I've heard so far, so I think it'll be a good album

Forum cover band song #2 - call for musicians

I'd be up for getting involved in this somehow, be it playing some guitar or production (without stepping on anyone's toes obviously)

Me and my 11 year old son are watching Wheel of Fortune on Challenge, we can't decide what's funniest, the prizes or the bad haircuts/clothing ha ha

    The Red And The Black

I seem to remember somebody on here saying the same about WTWWB not long after TFF was released. Personally, I like it in both cases.

#1 Record? Did you do your duty?

Same for me, I work from home a lot and that particular day I had some film music to compose for a client and got zero done, due to listening to the album numerous times!

#1 Record? Did you do your duty?

The only reason I downloaded the leak was because I'm impatient, and knowing that the album was out there already made me wanna hear it. I'd had it pre-ordered since the announcement and always intended on buying a physical copy, like I always do, not just with Maiden either

#1 Record? Did you do your duty?

Just been looking at the official UK Album Chart, and it seems there's a couple of Maiden new entries, Somewhere Back in Time at #44 and NOTB at #18. I reckon this is down to people buying BOS from sites such as Amazon and these 2 albums popped up as suggestions, one a classic album and the...

Can we all please rate The Book Of Souls as one complete album? Not 2 separte discs.

Definitely one complete album, albeit a double. I still consider Use Your Illusion to be one album, split over 2 parts, and have done since it was released in 1991. Because I tend to listen to most of my music via iTunes, or on my iPhone (sorrowful I know, but I spend a lot of time commuting)...

Iron Maiden Recording Techniques in the Studio

I believe this is the case for most songs, with overdubs added later.
