    Which songs represent your childhood?

For those of a certain age, which Maiden songs remind you of childhood the most? The ones that always give me that magical, nostalgic feeling are: Infinite Dreams The Sea of Madness The Clairvoyant even though the 1980s was the worst decade ever.

    Final Frontier verses

Hello. I am not a musician so maybe someone can help me here. On the Final Frontier, 4 or 5 of the songs seem to have the same verse tune. By this I mean the actual lyrics are sung to the same tune, even though the choruses are distinct. Has anyone else noticed this, and can anyone express this...

    Worst Single Lyric/Line

the way the line is sung doesn't help. It's just awkward. The album as a whole isn't that strong lyrically, but it definitely falls away after Starblind. The last three are very weak in my opinion.

    No Prayer for the Dying

This has made me go back and listen to all the albums again, which has led me to promote BNW. It's more amazing than I thought: 1. No Prayer for the Dying (1990) 2. Somewhere in Time (1986) 3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (1988) 4. Brave New World (2000) 5. Fear of the Dark (1992) 6. Virtual...

Official thread for Final Frontier discussion

On first listen I thought it was a bit samey all the way through, then on headphones with the sound cranked right up I experienced properly the raucous guitar and Bruce's subtle phrasings, and realised that it's actually a welcome addition to the Maiden canon - even When the Wild Wind Blows...

    No Prayer for the Dying

Thanks. I don't mind if people dislike it, I'm just interested why. There are only a few IM songs I don't like at all, and they are all on Dance of Death. Everything else I like in varying degrees, which is amazing if you count up everything they've done.

    No Prayer for the Dying

I grew up with Iron Maiden and Bruce, but have never really been concerned with their 'rock god status' or the epic quality of their music. I just listen to the songs and take them for what they are. I wonder what Maiden think of NPFTD? Certainly it does not have the mythical grandeur of other...

    No Prayer for the Dying

Its hard to say why I like FOTD over POM etc, other than the former is more creative and more substantial all round. The margins between most of them are very small though. Regarding TXF, I think musically this album was really good, even though sometimes the lyrics let it down. In fact, that's...

    No Prayer for the Dying

I must be strange then, as I think lyrically it is better than a lot of their albums. The whole thing seems to hang together very well and has no loose ends  - but the world would be boring if we all liked the same things. I would rank their first 14 albums as follows: 1. No Prayer for the...

    No Prayer for the Dying

Hi. Why do people have such a problem with the No Prayer for the Dying album? I thnk it's one of their best. I don't care if the tracks are shorter than normal or if it lacks an 'epic' quality. It's fantastic! Much better than Dance of Death, which seems to be so rated these days. :shred:
