They are just old and fat, so what? Let's just continue with our lives,ok? At least noone said something about them being short as well. Looking forward to what they choose to play from Senjutsu(which I still enjoy very much indeed)!
If you compare the guitar work to what they did since, it blows all the later albums out of the water(maybe not FOTD but IMO both FOTD and NPFTD have killer guitars)!
That is easy. As @hennkris said, the great and non-repetitive choruses are a huge step in the right direction.
Indeed Stratego and Days of Future Past are songs that were missing in the previous albums.
I feel that most of the songs have real meat on their bones and the structures of Senjutsu...
I do not get this "it is better that they do not sound like the processed / polished modern era productions". You know there are other options too!!! Maybe sounding clear for a change? Maybe without on one moment the voice gets burried and then for some reason some of the guitars get muddy as...
If you exclude the crying cat that tries to sing, quite a grooving track that leaves space for some improvisation. Senjutsu has gained my respect after all. I think that people do not give enough credit to the album despite its' obvious shortcomings. Especially Steve managed to provide 3 songs...
Well, I never got why people like the wickerman and it even got to be this iconic song that every rocker is measured against.....but IMO this is as close to a classic song Maiden can get to nowadays
I get what you mean, however I'd rather have a great song with an ok breakdown than a terrible song with a great breakdown ( I had to google cause I couldn't even remember the song's name...Wildest Dreams :down:)
