Nope, we are stuck with Tony Newton. He is the the chief sound engineer for Steve's studio. So we know everything he touches is going to be a mess.

I see (hear) the same issue with all my Maiden concerts. You can mostly hear the drums, the bass,the lead melodies and vocals.... Or to make a log story short there is no volume to the rythm guitars. They got like 3 of them for God's Sake.

I said it once but I'll say it again. We are all entitlεd to our own opinion after all,right? I can't fault the music ideas in the song. It is just one more of the usual over -repetitive and ovelong structuring that brings it down. I lose count on how many times the same parts are repeated over...

It has been a very long time since I had no issue with a Maiden song. Well, this is one of them. Even if the mid section sounds a bit empty, Nicko's playing makes up for it!

One thing I can tell for sure. After buying VXI I never looked to the eyes of a stranger ever again!

Both Blaze albums are a farse. Blaze has nothing to do with that. Steve was running out of ideas and direction. He tried to experiment while recording TXF. The album was a major failure in all aspects. Then Steve tried to get back to a more Maiden-ish sound. This was mostly a failure more having...

Sorry mate, VXI is not a mixed bag at all, it is the epitomy of a band without direction, unispired, with a talentless singer, a drummer who gives zero f#$s, Steve not knowing what the hell he is doing behind the recording desk.....

Lots of great parts and melodies. Nice vocals by Bruce and two great but short solos. The song as a whole on the other hand is arranged VERY POORLY and it gets too repetitive at times.

Don't like either. They got some nice parts but as complete songs they are both a mess. IMO that is!
