The Main venue holds something like 40k for concerts, but they also have Western Springs outer fields which is around half that, could be an option.

Yeah, and if they pulled off 25k per show that would still be a success, basically playing to more people over 3 shows than 7 arena dates. Essentially less work for bigger or worse case similar numbers.

Obviously nothing confirmed until the dates are dropped, but it might be a case of what I said earlier, they don't feel they could pull off a stadium show in NZ, but condensing Aus stadiums in just 3 cities they might do better and rely on travel.

If Maiden play any of those stadiums they won't come close to selling them out, but they likely would think if they can set records for those cities it's still a win. Like if they pull off 30k in Melbourne, that will be more than 2 arena shows there.

From memory Tool had Asian dates booked and for months everyone was commenting "where is Australia" and eventually it was announced they are headlining Good Things with 2 side shows in NZ, so yeah doesn't have any impact logistically really. And it's guarenteed money for the band regardless.

Good Things festival has been mentioned before, it could be the reason for the delayed announcement as festival organizers do wait until later in the year, but traditionally it's in December so it might not work, what will fill the gap between SA and Good Things? It's a long haul flight from SA...

How many Maiden fans are big Foos fans and vice versa? The fanbase is pretty different, I think it will be fine especially if Megadeth are also on the bill. In 2016 they had Sabbath and Maiden touring the exact same time too.

It wouldn't be the first time Australia had 2 major bands in the same month Metallica and Oasis were very close to each other last year then they had Tool and ACDC Doubtful any shows will clash if Maiden are there in November too.

I would say arenas is the safe bet, but judging on how most of the tour they are showing a bold preference to pull off stadiums in most territories it's not so far fetched to assume they might try it in Aus too.

They literally had a promotion giving away tickets for $66.66 in 2016 to push sales, I remember it well, and in 2024 for the first time decided not to play Christchurch and do a solo show, the popularity isn't there, a stadium show would completely flop At least in Australia they can sell out...

In NZ they barely sell out a 12k arena, there were still tickets available the day of the show last time, makes no sense trying a stadium there. Either NZ is skipped this time around, or it's an arena show. In Australia they might be able to pull off playing smaller rugby / leauge styled...
