Was the album "Brave New World" like "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" part II?

But when it comes to musical style both of these albums can be considered "soft heavy metal". I love them both and don't mean anything bad by calling them "soft", but they're definitely less heavy and aggressive compared to Maiden's previous (in regard to 7th son) and latter albums (in regard to...

What's your favourite post reunion album and why? #2

BNW hands down. It's the only post-80's Maiden album that I'd call GREAT.

Was the album "Brave New World" like "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" part II?

What would you say? Does "Brave New World" seem like a musical and stylistic continuation of "7th son" and its spiritual successor or not? Do you find these two albums pretty similar?

Poll: Which style of Judas Priest do you prefer?

70's material plus Painkiller is my favorite Priest. Not a big fan of 80's Priest apart from SFV. Firepower is surprisingly very good and it really rocks, I'd take it over i.e. (classic) British Steel anytime.

Between these two epic post-reunion Maiden songs what do you prefer and why?

What are the most overrrated albums in rock history?

Some examples: Nirvana - Nevermind (its impact is hard to deny but the material is not outstanding) Metallica - Master of puppets (it's a great classic but it doesn't deserve to be the most popular pick for "the greatest metal album") Linkin Park - Hybrid theory Radiohead - In rainbows (the...

The best run of 3 Maiden albums from the 80's?

I have to correct you: Hemispheres - Permanent waves - Moving pictures Signals came out after MP. And PeW is much better than Signals, in my book.

    Black Sabbath

It's surprising that Deep Purple as the whole band or some band member wasn't invited either since they're still an active band. Zeppelin, Sabbath and Purple are often lumped as "the (un)holy trinity of the 70's British heavy rock". Zeppelin is not active but Page or Plant could have been...

Poll: The weakest 80's Maiden album?

SIT is my second favorite Maiden album after Powerslave. Powerslave, SIT and SSoaSS is the best run of 3 Maiden albums in my view. I think SIT is a killer album. Only Heaven can wait is meh and kinda dull and I wouldn't even consider it bad. But we have CSIT, Wasted years, LOLDR, SISL and...

Poll: The weakest 80's Maiden album?

Only the title track and Wrathchild are the top-tier Maiden songs from Killers IMO. Some fans would add "Murders...", but it's not that outstanding.

    Black Sabbath

If Tool was there why wouldn't Iron Maiden be? What ties does Tool have with BS? Musically they're barely influenced by Sabbath. Iron Maiden definitely has more in common with BS than Tool. Also the guys from Rush (Lifeson and Lee) were invited to participate and they have nothing in common with BS.

Poll: The weakest 80's Maiden album?

What woud be your pick in this poll? Personally I think it's Killers. It has no truly bad songs but it just doesn't have many standout songs as the other 6 albums have. For me it's a very good album but not a GREAT one (the other six 80's albums are great).

Even if they had been invited, they wouldn't have been able to perform at this concert due to their concert in Madrid on the same day.

    Black Sabbath

It's a shame that Iron Maiden as the band or none of the Iron Maiden guys (esp. Steve Harris) could not participate at this Black Sabbath's farewell concert. There were the names as Metallica, Mastodon, Alice in Chains, Tool, Tom Morello, Anthrax, Gojira, Billy Corgan, Steven Tyler, Pantera...

Which Maiden songs we should consider as a ballads/power ballads ?

If Metallica's "Fade to black" is widely considered a ballad then Maiden's "Remember Tomorrow" is a ballad no less. "Wasting love" is a ballad 100%.

Iron Maiden style of music not being very RIFFY

What do you think about Iron Maiden music not being very RIFFY (not having many heavy guitar riffs as a significant element of their music)? Did you ever mind that aspect specific to them? They obviously created their own heavy metal style and didn't follow Black Sabbath footsteps of metal...
