All in all, it makes the sound fuller, it's nice to hear it, but it's not the case of BTP. If the new album sounds like this, it would be better than TMP.

Just heard Omega (2026). Not a fan of the snare drum. Bruce’s vocals are more “in your face”, than as part of the music. All in all, these remixes suck big time. Even BTP was bad. The original recordings were perfect & hence mustn’t be touched. The new version just sounds mutilated and unnatural in my opinion. I do understand Bruce is tryna really promote his solo in prep of his upcoming solo but man, don’t bastardize the original sound. As they say “ If it aren’t broke, don’t fix it “.

Seems odd that Bruce would officially announce him, then yank him just to be a jerk. It looks disorganized and disrespectful. I know there was some comment made about Roy being really busy with the remixes at the time (which he wound up not being involved with at all), Roy was drunk-posting again, there was debate about 1 vs. 2 touring guitarists, where Bruce repeatedly defended Roy as the only touring guitarist because he’s “like one and a half guitarists”, plus Mystheria’s fills, etc., and then suddenly Roy was out and two different guitarists were in. Why wouldn’t Roy just accept a second guitarist on tour if that was the issue?

There was talk of infidelity and falling off the wagon with alcohol when Roy goes on tour, which may have applied external pressure for him to bail out, too. Sorry, but the full picture says to me that Roy just flaked out again, for a variety of potential reasons. But you’re right that we don’t know for sure.

I said it at the time, but I didn’t think Roy looked all that well in the Rain on the Graves video. He looked much heavier than before as well.

I’m not fat shaming, but touring is hard on the body. Maybe Bruce didn’t think he was physically up for touring .

I read some interview with Bruce a while back where he talked about this, and while he tried to sound charitable you could tell that he wasn’t really happy with Guru’s performance and felt like Roy had left him high & dry. Would he have any real bitterness if Roy’s “family emergency” was actually legitimate? Seems unlikely to me. But if he left the tour because he got caught cheating or just couldn’t handle his booze and had to go placate someone, then yeah, that’s letting your personal shit get in the way of business, which isn’t cool.

Yeah I just haven’t read anything else about hence why I asked. I thought there was something that was going on with Roy’s father(?).

The only thing I appreciated with BTP is that Bruce’s vocals finally sounded like they were mixed better, which has been my biggest complaint about the album forever. Unfortunately all the extra frills do not entice me to come back to it despite this.
 
Rright, I am going to get the ball rolling on on the topic of unpopular Bruce Dickinson solo career opinions.

I’ll start. Despite loving the albums Skunkworks and Accident of Birth, I really do not like the songs Faith and Starchildren. Something about them really grates me.

No, a professional band with a management team doesn't find out right before a tour, after the touring musicians have already been announced, that one of them isn't even allowed to travel.
And that certainly doesn't happen more than once.
The only thing that actually happens every now and then is that there are sudden difficulties when actually entering a different country.
