Bruce - “That will involve, I would say, 90 per cent of this set going in the bin. There’s so much to do, so many possibilities. It's really quite exciting.”

I'm glad that they're unwilling to settle into a cabaret act and are seemingly thinking about fresh and exciting themes for future tours.
With Bruce having the biggest say in the sets now, it's exciting to think about more different and deep cuts from all eras. Good to hear this. ''So much to do''! Hmm. New album, Reunion era songs, more deep cuts. Maybe the next tour could indeed be with more ''rare'' songs. 90% means just Iron Maiden and Fear Of The Dark.

Well, The Trooper isn't going anywhere either, so that one is safe to assume as well. Then there's stuff like TETMD, an obvious classic, that took an extended break. It's due for a return. Fan-favourites that were played on LOTB like Revelations or The Wicker Man/Blood Brothers have good chances as well. So, I wouldn't expect something that is just deep cut after deep cut. There's still a lot of "safe" material that isn't played on the current tour.

That said, TFP was super unorthodox, and it was awesome because of that. I have faith that we'll see some interesting choices in the coming years.

I highly doubt they have some grand strategy of misleading people in interviews while secretly plotting a new album behind the scenes.

They're long past that stage of their career. They may not tell the whole truth, and they may avoid discussing certain things until the time is right, but outright playing smoke-and-mirrors games with the fanbase doesn't strike me as very Maiden-like.

When Steve is as vocal and consistent about his preferences as he has been over the years, I tend to take him at his word. He may change his mind eventually, of course, but that's different from deliberately saying one thing while planning the exact opposite.
