Super hard disagree, Murders is a banger, chorus is delicious. The only good part is the moody intro with the little bass solo. Once it goes all happy-go-lucky the song takes a serious nosedive.
Good enough to sell millions of copies worldwide, attract the attention of Martin Birch, a highly in-demand producer at the time and get them tours with Priest and Kiss, two of the biggest rock bands around at the timeI have to say it.i ron maiden and killers (the album) has 2 or 3 good song on it each. The rest is not good at all.

I know but for me arent good.Good enough to sell millions of copies worldwide, attract the attention of Martin Birch, a highly in-demand producer at the time and get them tours with Priest and Kiss, two of the biggest rock bands around at the time![]()
Happy-go-lucky is the last thing I would describe it as. It’s scorching. The only good part is the moody intro with the little bass solo. Once it goes all happy-go-lucky the song takes a serious nosedive.
Yeah I would not go that far. Any other song from Killers and I’d keep my mouth shut but “Drifter” is just a waste of five minutes (or more if they extend it with all the yo yo yo’ing).I'd have Drifter back as a set closer any day, exultant party anthem, fuck yes.
That's literally my favourite bitbut “Drifter” is just a waste of five minutes (or more if they extend it with all the yo yo yo’ing).

I'll have Killers over A Matter of Plod and Snooze too any day.Super hard disagree, Murders is a banger, chorus is delicious.
On the Killers hate in general, that ain't my vibe, I love that album, big Di Anno era fan, there's a frenetic energy that I love and I dig the tunes in their own right. There's just a special feel to the first 2 albums that has yet to wane on me.

Ahh I kinda totally love that shit too. But if I'd the chance to hear one played live by the band in its entirety, it would be Killers. All. Day. Long!I'll have Killers over A Matter of Plod and Snooze too any day.![]()
Damn. Imo even the single best minute of music on Killers is still worse than the single weakest minute of music on AMOLAD. The style of metal heard on Killers doesn't do anything for me for the most part, while AMOLAD ticks all the boxes.I'll have Killers over A Matter of Plod and Snooze too any day.![]()
To each their own.Damn. Imo even the single best minute of music on Killers is still worse than the single weakest minute of music on AMOLAD. The style of metal heard on Killers doesn't do anything for me for the most part, while AMOLAD ticks all the boxes.

I dont feel that for me is darker dance of death but this (for me) is a bad album.I agree with @Black Bart on this one. A Matter of Life and Death is too depressing for me. And I don’t mean lyrically. As someone whose native language isn’t English, I primarily pay attention to the overall musical landscape, and in this case it feels far too cold and grey to me. If only the album cover had been sunny instead, ha ha.
The musical landscape of The X Factor is dark as well, but it feels warmer to me.

Happy and energetic is BNW. For me that album the only happy song is the title track. I love the harmonies. And bruce singing if you compare to BNW is really bad and specially the second half of the album.Dance of Death album doesn’t feel dark to me. To my ears, it sounds too raw, harsh, and even clipping in places.
But musically, its overall landscape feels more uplifting - more major-key than minor-key, imo. They sound plus minus happy and energetic while everything clips and hisses around them, ha.
