I heard Eddfest being advertised on Planet Rock today. I can’t recall hearing a Maiden tour being advertised on there before, as the UK shows generally sell out quite quick.

It's selling poorly indeed but Planet Rock has always talked about Maiden's shows.
Let's not forget that 2018 was the first year when they were able to sell out every date of the UK tour (only a year prior they had a negative record in Sheffield) and that their festival appearances (aside from Knebworth 2010) have never sold out too. Yet, shows have always been talked about/advertised.

GA won't be 35k for that show. I am not the one telling the GA sold out. The promoter and the biggest rock sites in Greece say it. Also you can use your eyes on the show and you won't have to wait for pollstar. That's why i said soon. You seem to want the last word or something so you go ahead. You came out of nowhere talking about sales for this show and you don't even know what Pollstar or Billboard are. I've been doing this for decades, I've been working with venues and bands, I've been working with promoters that organize shows for the likes of Rammstein and Maiden. In addition to all of this you could've easily checked the numbers for every section since the first seconds of presale and the total amount right now would be close to 30k, no 35k or this or that. Promoters and especially newspapers ALWAYS tell a bigger number, to make things look more epic. There were articles about Maiden playing to 50k in 2022 and in reality they sold not even 27k tickets. Not a breaking news, it's been happening since the dawn of time, especially since media don't have access to the official numbers in most cases.
Wanna believe what you want because you like Iron Maiden and so they must do good numbers? Fine. It's not the truth, but be my guest. Just don't be I-know-it-all with someone whose knowledge about this surpass yours.

I was talking about "recent" ones. But good question: I don't know if those were actually sold out (tbh back in the day you could just fill every venue with whatever amount of people you wanted, there weren't much safety restrictions)

I just wanted to let people know that some good tickets have been released for Athens then somebody has read too much into that.

- Amsterdam selling out in 5 minutes is probably the biggest surprise, considering it always takes months to do so (well, the two times they played there in the past 15 years). Considering it happened right after filling up the Gelredome for the first time ever, it's definitely one for the books.

- Bratislava is also amazing, especially considering it's a C market which bands usually skip (surely they don't play there two years in a row).

- I'm told sales for Norway were something they never expected, way, way better than Metallica (again, after playing 2 sold out shows last year).

- Milan is bad if you consider it's a 60k stadium (reduced to a little less than 40k) but great when you consider Italy is not their best market, tickets are insanely high priced and they just played in another stadium.

- Athens is doing good, will probably end up close to Guns n Roses (around 36k).

- Lisbon is amazing. Not even Metallica dared to play that stadium while Maiden, if it was the first time in Portugal for this tour, could've sell out the whole venue.

- Basically every Australian show (I was kind of expecting NZ to do good after the quick sold out last time)

- Lyon is the 6th french show of the RFYL tour and yet it's gonna be their biggest headliner french show ever

The rest is more or less what'd you expect, with Bucharest and Knebworth being the worst of the EU leg. South America is not that great but it has been just 2 years since the last visit. Colombia is probably the worst selling show on the American soil but with those prices, that venue and so soon after the previous show it was coming (and I think their goal is to just make more money as possible).

Eu só queria avisar que alguns bons ingressos para Atenas foram liberados, mas alguém fez isso de forma exagerada.


O fato de os ingressos para o show em Amsterdã terem se esgotado em 5 minutos é provavelmente uma grande surpresa, considerando que normalmente leva meses para isso acontecer (bem, nas duas vezes em que tocaram lá nos últimos 15 anos). Levando em conta que isso ocorreu logo após loterem o Gelredome pela primeira vez na história, é definitivamente um feito para ficar na memória.

Bratislava também é incrível, especialmente considerando que é um mercado de segunda linha, que as bandas geralmente ignoram (com certeza elas não tocam lá dois anos seguidos).

— Me disseram que as vendas na Noruega foram algo que eles nunca esperaram, muito, muito melhores do que as do Metallica (depois de terem feito dois shows com ingressos esgotados no ano passado).

- Milão é ruim se você considerar que é um estádio para 60 mil pessoas (capacidade reduzida para pouco menos de 40 mil), mas ótimo se levarmos em conta que a Itália não é o melhor mercado para eles, os ingressos são absurdamente caros e eles acabaram de jogar em outro estádio.

- Atenas está indo bem, provavelmente vai acabar perto do Guns N' Roses (em cerca de 36 mil).

Lisboa é incrível. Nem o Metallica se atreveu a tocar naquele estádio, enquanto o Iron Maiden, se fosse a primeira vez em Portugal nesta turnê, poderia ter lotado o local inteiro.

- Basicamente todos os shows australianos (eu meio que esperava que a Nova Zelândia se saísse bem depois dos ingressos se esgotassem rapidamente da última vez)

Lyon é o sexto show da turnê RFYL na França e, mesmo assim, será o maior show deles como atração principal no país até hoje.

O resto é mais ou menos o que se esperava, com Bucareste e Knebworth sendo os piores da etapa europeia. A América do Sul não é lá essas coisas, mas já se passou apenas dois anos desde a última visita. A Colômbia provavelmente é o show com pior desempenho em solo americano, mas com esses preços, esse local e tão pouco tempo depois do show anterior, era de se esperar (e acho que o objetivo deles é simplesmente lucrar o máximo possível).

This one is one of the letdown for me. Capacity for the past edition was close to 12k. This time it's surely bigger but still, a long way from selling out the Madrid stadium in hours. But being in such a "remote" place I think it's okay

it doesn't matter who's paying, the principle is the same.
make more than you spend.
you invite good bands, you pay more, but you sell more tickets/merch etc.
obviously this is a 3 day festival, but the supporting bands are so much better. Maiden could easily do something like that.

Probably greed.
They thought Maiden alone would sell a lot more tickets.

It does if the one paying is a well established promoter with an insane amount of money available (talking about Live Nation here) and the other is just a band.

Calling all those big bands would be financially impossible for a band, which has to pay for everything else already. Also, how many tickets can they shift anyway? Because that's a 23k cap festival happening on a saturday and yet tickets are still available. It would make very little sense to pay astronomical amounts of money to sell 10k tickets more at best. At that point, it's better to just leave the sales as they are, hoping for an improve and get 100% of what you're making on site those days.
