RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I'm pretty positive about the setlist, there are some great songs that have not been played in a while, so that's good. But I do find a pity that there are no songs they had not played with the reunion lineup. Every historical tour has had some nice surprises and I was hoping for something like Infinite Dreams or something from No Prayer for the Dying. Also, Aces High is getting a bit boring now and does not sound as good anymore. The screen is definitely a nice improvement and also Simon did a great job.

Alright they wanted to play Aces High. I get it. Why not start with it though? It's a better opener than Murders and it also gives Bruce a chance to sing it.
Murders could be 3rd song or something. It's not an iconic opener or a very popular song either.
The ideal scenario is no Aces High, but if they wanted to include it so much, it doesn't make sense to be in the encore.

Now Aces High. Why the fuck do you have to play it. You can't top LOTB production. You aren't getting younger. Why? You are doing 3 other Powerslave songs? Why? You admitted you couldn't sing it 30 years ago and you are attempting it at 6fucking7... Why the fuck? Play Running Free or Daughter fuckssake. Play Infinite Dreams... Play Afraid To Shoot Strangers. Play Be Quick... Whatever. Just not Aces Mid-Height FFS.

Fear Of The Dark works great as a 2nd encore and it's refreshing to have it there. Despite the bitching, I think Wasted Years was the right choice to close the show and it has great production and the right message.

So, all in all, Aces is the downer of the set. Replacing it with a rarity would make this one a set for the ages.

The setlist overall would be a 9/10, but Aces brings it down 2 points. 7/10.
This is my exact thoughts as well. Nothing will top the LotB production for Aces High and if they really want to play it they should play is as an opener. Not an encore, not as closer, just as opener.

The fantastic epics and great production of the first half of the concert gets taken down by Aces High unfortunately. I get FotD and Wasted Years to a degree but Aces High' choice baffles me so much.

I'm also in the camp that Aces was not needed and should have been replaced with Daughter or Running Free. But who are we all kidding?

This is potentially Maiden's biggest ever tour (in terms of venue size and ticket sales) and there's no way they'd opt to play something from one of their least liked albums instead of the (casual) fan favourite.

Nothing from NPFTD was going to supplant a live staple like Aces, ever, and all the speculation prior was pure wish fulfilment. This is not a deep cuts tour, this is a greatest hits.

Once again, I’m really liking Adrian’s choice of guitars. Is he actually playing the very same guitar that was seen on Live After Death? Some of you mentioned “Lado” guitars—I thought that was a brand name, but now I’m wondering if you meant Live After Death instead. Ha ha.

F* it's a brand. L A D as Live after Death :)

It is kinda wild to me that Running Free, their first single, didn't make the setlist. There's also no other song (like Sanctuary) that get extended in a live setting either.
Guess they focused mostly on the music itself, making sure to present spectacle rather than audience participation. Considering the length of the set not a bad idea.

Yes, both Lados from World Slavery Tour. Black one is in the same condition as it was during Japanese tour and Silverburst has been Floyded.

Fun fact I just thought of, they played 6 title tracks in this setlist:

Iron Maiden
Killers
The Number of the Beast
Powerslave
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Fear of the Dark

Whatever setlist they come up with, there will always be criticism and disappointment for some fans; playing the songs some people got tired of hearing; omitting some great/favorite songs... Like Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest said in an interview, "When you choose somebody's favorite song to play, you leave out somebody else's favorite". I guess that is an inevitable case when you have a great number of hit/classic/fan-favorite songs. The bottom line is You can't make everybody happy, and you shouldn't even try. In my case, I can say that it is great to see Powerslave- Rime- Phantom- Seventh Son- FOTD- Killers in the same setlist. On the other hand, in my dream setlist of this tour, I wouldn't have any of the rest of the songs they played; especially Aces High, 2MTM, The Trooper, Wasted Years, and the other songs from Killers -which is their worst album IMO (nothing to listen for me accept the title track). Instead put BQOBD, Wasting Love, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Childhood's End (as a surprise), TETMD, Revelations, No Prayer for the Dying, Bring Your Daughter..., Children of the Damned, Strange World, Remember Tomorrow, Running Free (as a show closer).
Of course this will never happen; just sharing my thoughts. In the end, I would love to see the show because Iron Maiden is worth seeing live and whatever setlist they play; there will always be a few songs in it that I truly love. I prefer to see the full part of the glass.

Now that I've seen many videos, I can safely say that the huge screen really helped some songs. Live staples like Fear of the Dark and Hallowed be thy Name look much better now. Other live staples like Run to the Hills and the Trooper got very boring staging, both of them had better staging on the Legacy tour (Trooper in fact was pretty similar, which was a bit meh).
The saddest part imo is that many songs will be retired after this tour. I can safely assume that Rime and SSOASS for example or the Paul era songs (except IM and possibly Wrathchild) will never be played live again. Maybe we are lucky and Aces Low is also retired.
So, as much as some people complain about this setlist, this might be our last chance to see those tracks live and also to enjoy songs like Hallowed, Powerslave and Fear with this production.
- it's funny that my speculation 17-track setlist on Spotify is exactly 1h43mins. That's the total run of the actual setlist on Spotify. If you add to that Doctor, some extended tracks, the pause before the encore, Bruce's speeches etc, it must be the longest Maiden set ever (almost 2h long).

A lot of love for NPFTD here, which I really appreciate. For me there's just the fan desire that all eras are represented.

Also, the NPFTD vibe appeals to me for the 50th anniversary because it was more light hearted and hard rock-influenced. Would work with the celebration concept. Feels like a missed opportunity for a rarity and singalong in the crowd.

I have a theory that the band are faintly embarrassed by the BYDTTS lyrics (and have lots of daughters between them!). And/or, they have odd vibes from the 1990-92 era because of H and Bruce unhappiness. While FOTD transcends that era, it is the only track that fully achieves that.
