RUN FOR YOUR LIVES - The setlist contest

Agreed. However, I would absolutely love to see songs like Hallowed and/or Run to the Hills being played a lot earlier than their usual spot has been for a very long time. Run to the Hills, for example, is a great closer, but being played early on would be a great way to "fake" some freshness to it.
I can see RTTH played earlier in the set. I can also see Fear as an encore or Fear earlier in the set. I just don't see Hallowed there. It's either before IM or encore imo.

1. Prowler
2. Killers
3. Infinite Dreams
4. Phantom of the Opera
5. Die With Your Boots On
6. Fear of the Dark
7. The Clairvoyant
8. The Trooper
9. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
10. Powerslave
11. Wasted Years
12. The Number of the Beast
13. Hallowed be thy Name
14. Iron Maiden
Encore
15. Sanctuary
16. Running Free
17. Run to the Hills
I don't know why, but I picked Prowler for the opener. The first 25-30 mins will make people say "I can't believe they're playing that". Maybe a 17-track setlist is unrealistic, but most of the songs I picked are short.

Yeah, although they did play it (and FOTD) on a tad bit more "middle-set" kind of a position in 2022.

Thinking about it now, it was actually rather strong sequence:
Sign of the Cross, Flight of Icarus, Fear of the Dark, Hallowed, 666 & Iron Maiden.

I wonder if there was a big hint at the final song in the FTTB guidelines on the fanclub forum
A huge amount of work went into making the Run For Your Lives Tour fit for a 50th Anniversary, and we’re giving you the best view in the house: the very front row! We ask, on behalf of the band staring right down at you, that you refrain from intrusive filming of the show. Enjoy the unique, privileged, experience fully – by all means take a quick ‘look where I am’ snap but please put the phone away and politely ask others to do the same. Come the last song (Can you guess what it is?) by all means ‘fill your boots’ but until then let’s be more mid-80’s about our concert-going experience shall we?

Has to be Run to the Hills?
Why do you think this is a hint? The last song to be a surprise? Or no because they ask?
Die With Your Boots On? Naah.

It's funny that they're calling this tour a 50th anniv when it's only for the first 9 albums.

My new guess:

1.Be Quick Or Be Dead (why not)
2.Prowler/Wrathchild
3.Sea Of Madness
4.Killers
5.Infinite Dreams
6.Phantom Of The Opera
7.No Prayer For The Dying (if not for each album, then Wrathchild; instead of another SSOASS/POM (Evil or Boots) or Powerslave)
8.The Trooper
9.To Tame A Land (instead of Powerslave or Seventh Son)
10.The Number Of The Beast
11.Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
12.The Clairvoyant (instead of Evil)
13.Run To The Hills
14.Fear Of The Dark
15.Iron Maiden
Encore:
16.2 Minutes To Midnight
17.Hallowed Be Thy Name
18.Running Free

I took a risk with 18 songs. And I considered Bruce's comment about the first ''mind-blowing'' 30 minutes. Also, one song from each album, otherwise they could skip SIT and NPFTD. I refused to add both Running Free and Sanctuary.
Other likely songs are: Seventh Son/Powerslave, Sanctuary, Boots/Still Life, even 22AA, Moonchild... OTGDY?.
Definitely a ''wow'' setlist for this tour. Let's see what happens, something interesting. There should be at least 2 90's songs.

IF any or all of these 3 songs are not played would be sad for me. Only the good die young ,,be quick or be dead and rime of the ancient mariner.

I am going to stand by my original early prediction, but knowing what we know now I would make a couple changes

- I am not seeing Moonchild as an opener, but I am coming around on Infinite Dreams as a dark horse pick.

- The opener feels like a real wildcard right now. Murders in the Rue Morgue feels like the intersection between an interesting pick and a safe bet, and if I had made my setlist a couple days later I probably would have picked that instead. On the other hand, I feel like there are two extremes where we either get Aces High again or they open with something cool like Sanctuary or Phantom of the Opera.

- I am glad I locked in Killers and Die With Your Boots On as I feel pretty bullish on those, wish I would have predicted Sanctuary as well (probably instead of 22 Acacia Avenue).

Otherwise I still feel this is pretty close to what we're going to get.

ok my final setlist for the contest (after collecting the hints and the spoilers and reorganizing my wishes):

I thought I posted this here but was in the speculation thread… i have just copied it

Someone has probably suggested this.

I saw Sleep Token recently and they played songs essentially from oldest to newest ((in terms of albums) and I am sure this is what Taylor Swift did as well)). I was talking to a friend about this for if Maiden were to a chronological setlist.

There is some fan-fiction in here whilst keeping it with mainly classics

  1. Phantom of the Opera (IM)
  2. Iron maiden (IM)
  3. Ides of March/Wrathchild (K)
  4. Killers (K)
  5. Number of the Beast (NOTB)
  6. Run to the Hills (NOTB)
  7. Hallowed by thy Name (NOTB)
  8. Trooper (POM)
  9. Revelations (POM)
  10. 2 mins to midnight (PS)
  11. Rime of the Ancient Mariner (PS)
  12. Alexander the Great (SIT)
  13. Moonchild (SSOASS)
  14. Only the good die young (SSOASS)
  15. Bring your daughter (NPFTD)
  16. Fear of the Dark (FOTD)

Phantom - basing it that they can play the intro on tape and was in the trailer.
Rime - has been spoken about.
Alex - if they only keep one from CSIT, why not this.
Moonchild/OTGDY combo could have the acoustic bookend and either be the start of the encore or the end of the main set as OTGDY has that rock and roll ending.
BYDTTS - it is a Maiden song that my non-Maiden friends know well so surely it is a slam dunk from NPFTD. It is also a good encore song.
Finishing with FOTD is a bit weird due to the outro but it is a hype song so could be good for last

This has been bugging me for weeks. I've tried what I wanted to hear, the “safe” setlist, and even the rumored wild cards. Nothing worked - everything sucked. So, to stop overthinking it, I did a combo of all three and I’m just putting this here. There.

1. Be Quick or Be Dead
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. Killers
4. Infinite Dreams
5. Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner
6. The Trooper
7. Phantom of the Opera
8.. The Clairvoyant
9. The Number of the Beast
10. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
11. Fear of the Dark
12. Iron Maiden
================================
13. Hallowed be Thy Name
14. Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter
15. Run to the Hills
Fu** this safe as* setlist. I'm not winning this thing, might as well go bananas with it.
"Setlist for the ages" as Bruce said, going chronologically backwards.
Hits: 8
Middle of the Road: 6
Deep Cuts: 2
Never Before Played Song: 1
Time Lenght: 1h45 min-ish

1. Be Quick or Be Dead
2. Fear of the Dark
3. Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter
4. The Clairvoyant
5. Infinite Dreams
6. Loneliness of a Long Distance Runner
7. 2 Minutes to Midnight
8. Rime of the Ancient Mariner

13. The Number of The Beast
14. Killers
15. Running Free

16. Phantom of the Opera
17. Iron Maiden

I seriously doubt that they will play up to 20 songs, but as it's their 50th anniversary, you'll never know. Here is my best prediction:

1. Be Quick or Be Dead
2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
3. Wrathchild
4. Murders in the Rue Morgue
5. Infinite Dreams
6. Phantom of the Opera
7. Die With Your Boots On
8. Sea of Madness
9. 22 Acacia Avenue
10. Bring Your Daughter...
11. Powerslave
12. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
13. Fear of the Dark
14. The Number of the Beast
15. Iron Maiden
Endcore:
16. Aces High
17. Alexander the Great
18. Hallowed Be Thy Name
19. The Trooper
Endcore 2:
