I think I have at least 12 songs, but the order is extremely hard to guess compared to Future Past where I felt some songs were quite obvious. At least if they were early or later in the set.
--I don't see Hallowed being that early in the set.
Agreed. However, I would absolutely love to see songs like Hallowed and/or Run to the Hills being played a lot earlier than their usual spot has been for a very long time. Run to the Hills, for example, is a great closer, but being played early on would be a great way to "fake" some freshness to it. I know that The Trooper, as far as the performance goes, wasn't at it's most intense in the encore spot for LOTB 2022 & Future Past tour, but I was certainly a lot more... excited and open for it like that! The most generic place for it would've been right after The Time Machine, but I think that might have been just another going-through-motions kind of a performance and made me feel like "well let's get this out of the way then" where as The Prisoner was extremely fresh and welcome in that place and made a lot of fans pleasantly surprised.
Of course I get that such appeal is mostly for the hardcore fans hungry for deep cuts, but you know, their setlist thinking with the Future Past just made me extremely happy.
So yeah, I hope we'll see some of that fresh thinking with RUN FOR YOUR LIVES too! Maybe not quite as much with the song selection itself, but the running order can have a huge impact for real. Play Run to the Hills, Fear of the Dark or Hallowed be Thy Name early on... or alternatively, put Fear of the Dark in the encore! Or Phantom of the Opera as the closer, even?
Well, we will find out soon enough..! I better prepare my entry for the contest, too...
